I haven't replied in your thread as I'm too pressed for time to get into lengthy debates (and that thread has "lengthy debate" written all over it). That being said I do discourage my students from citing web pages and have never used web-citations myself. Apparently, we don't excel in building bridges here in Denmark:

The bridge was under construction when it collapsed today. The freeway beneath was open to traffic and about 20 workers were on top of the bridge, but for some weird reason only one guy died. People are already talking about an act of God - blissfully ignoring that if God indeed cared about their bridge and lives, he wouldn't have had it collapse in the first place.
Happened less than five kms from here too.

Wow, how the hell does one build/design such a crapy bridge? Thank God (no pun inteneded) most of them came out alive though. It's kinda freaky that it happened just 5 Kms away from you. Good thing you weren't on the road that day trancaholic.

Knowing the politicians of my country, no doubt there will be an independent investigation of how this happened, followed by a series of new laws, which will ensure that nothing exactly like this happens again (and that construction works will be much more expensive and slow ).

The odds were kind of minimal for me being on the road - I don't drive a car. Moreover, an inlet separates the town in two. The collapse happened in the part of the town where I don't live, where none of my friends live, where I don't work, and where no shops, clubs, theaters or bars lie. It does have a nice Viking museum, though - guess I'm lucky that I'm not a fanatic Viking enthusiast.
