Have you checked out the website of the US embassy in Sweden (Stockholm?) ? Before I went to the US, I went to the site of the Danish one (http://www.usembassy.dk/), and it was pretty easy to find out what I needed to find out. |
The Swedish one only had info about how you should apply, something that is not really interesting for me (yet anyway). What I'm looking for is more info for how, cause their website only says how you should apply and not what is needed to get an application approved.

(The institution will issue some paperwork that they send to you, which you then bring with you to a personal interview at the US embassy.) If you just want to work, then I don't really know a whole lot about it. However, I talked to a company owner in San Francisco some three or four years ago, and he told me that when they hired staff from abroad, they had to demonstrate that they could not get similarly qualified people from inside the US. If you don't hold any specific degrees or diplomas, you thus might have a hard time working there legally. (If you want to go the illegal route, you should enter on your passport (no visa needed if you come from Sweden, I think), and then fail to leave the country within the 90 days time limit.) |
Yeah the illegal way might be a way too (I have been in the US before without returning my I-94 after the required 90 days, and it has never been a problem (guess its easier if you are from Sweden to get away with it than if you are from Mexico or something ). Anyhow, guess it would be easily as easy to get away with it if I just stayed in the US after those 90 days and just telling them I was in sweden all the time. But yeah I think I will try the legal way first! Anyone knows how hard it is to find illegal jobs in the US btw? How easy is it to get cought etc?
If I'm going to the US I think I will try the legal way though. And apperntly I can get one year after a finnished education to work legal, and I guess in that time I could also get some kind of deal with some company to stay, or I will just be sick and tierd of the USA and go somewhere else
Or I will just do something else, time will show
