Has anyone seen noteable performance increases using cubase as such? I was also wondering whether it would be stable enough to use for producing, but was somewhat wary afer reading this:

This program provides an opportunity to preview the next generation of Windows XP Professional x64 Edition while the product is still under development. This product is intended for testing and evaluation purposes only. It should not be used for production purposes, and should not be placed in a production environment.
It should not to be used for MUSICAL production purposes?

I'm not running it but they may be putting that warning in b/c of possible bugs that might cause significant crashes. I'm sure it will be fine to try out, just don't expect an absence of crashes. Also, only 64-bit applications will see a performance increase. I'm not sure but I don't think many audio production apps are 64-bit compatible yet, but we'll see a push for 64 bit software in the next year.

exactly what he's saying. first off, its still beta versions. secondly, there hasn't been any pc software thats been written specifically for 64-bit computer. so its pointless to upgrade now. maybe later.... but not now...
project 7: i don't believe it will be compatible with 32 bit...

I would say that since the OS is going to be running at the 64-bit rate, you WILL see dramatic increase in performance in terms of operations by the OS, but nothing else. If I were you I'd partition my HD and get some OS switching sofware so you could choose to boot up to 32 or 64. That would be fun
