Tommy Pi & Tomonari - C Sharp 2004 (inc review)

As everyone knows, this is out on 26th july on Skywarp records of Germany.

5 tracks for you to choose from

vinyl 1
Original
Mike Shiver
Tom Porcell

vinyl 2
Alphazone
Markus Schulz Coldharbour

After getting the cd promo for reviewing purposes today, you can find my review here at http://www.ivibes.nu/index.php?article=3192

My conclusion however i'll paste here

A variation of scores throughout, with 2 very strong remixes, and some that maybe need work on to be as good. Altogether, I'd say it's worth a purchase for the Mike Shiver & Alphazone releases alone, although with them being on seperate vinyls, it's gonna cost you twice as much. Those 2 release would command a score of 9/10 between them, but sadly the other material lowers the score considerably

personally I find it hard to feel some of the remixes, as they don't improve the original at all (rls under 'the quest')

I personally liked the markus schulz coldharbour remix better then the others though.

as an individual track, I can see that the style will fit some peoples tastes, but it just sounds wrong to my ears, one or two instruments sound a bit like they shouldn't be there, and some of the percussions scared me when they came through so loud. The idea in general is there for a different take, but im this case personally I found it fell short

just to add to that, I'd have loved someone like James Holden to have remixed it for a proggier sound, would've possibly been a better choice, I respect markus as a dj but as a producer I think he falls short of some guys like that
