Well now all you need these days is a computer (pc), a 24 bit 96 hz audio card, and some studio moniters.
Of course you need a ton of warez software, but then you can make as much music as you want. You don't even need a keyboard to make music. My friend makes professional jungle music purely from samples and software. Hell he uses shitty speakers as well, not studio moniters.
Let me reiterate this, all you need to make good music is a computer, speakers and software. Get to work already learning the software and using purely audio as your playhouse. Learn the tricks of mixing and mastering since they are just as important as the music itself. Get a grasp on the overall production, the overall sound you are going for.
Be forewarned, it takes awhile to get good at mixing and mastering. Composing as well either comes naturally or you need to take painstaking classes in composition to get it straight. Listen to your style and know what flows within it. Then again, once you know all the styles you can expand on a style and make something new.
But you don't need shit to make good music these days, ozone works great as a mastering processor and waves plugings do all you need for eqing.

I do understand an appreciated your advice !But i have a Roland TD-8 hardware brand new still in an immaculate condition that i wanna get rid its a very neat piece of hardware if u doing ROCK or other forms of music well except TRANCE that is.All i want for the TD-8 is a MIDI controller edirol or something is i think its a very good deal ? What do u think.....
Anyway i do have nice software not alot but pretty much does the
job !
FL Studio 5.1
Reason 3
Cubase sx 2.2
Alberton live 5.0
various VST instuments pro53,FM7 and various freeware vst`s
and yes i do have ozone and waves 4.1 mastering pack but i like the ozone more it does the job much better well that my opinion.
Now as for my PC hardware i have the following...
Dual view 17 inch monitors
Graphics Card Geforce 550 256MB with DVI (i used a DVI to VGA convertor)
1.5 GHz CPU AMD
80 Gig HDD
640 MB DDR
---------------------------------------------------
I will show off my mini setup I love my dual monitor setup it really makes a difference when u making music i.e. I hate minimizing and maximizing the screen!!!!!!
Tell me what u think ?
Cheers !

I think this is very true. I am a nobody in the music scene, but I have been listening to a lot of trance and I am very impressed with Reason. I was going to buy a groove box, but Reason does way more.
I was very sad to realise my P.O.S. $3 sound card was dropping out. Now I am shopping for a '2496'. Here is a link to compare computer stuff prices for people in the states: http://arstechnica.dealtime.com/xCH...nkin_id-3038560
To get in future:
- better sound card
- install Buzz

you want to trade a TD-8 for a PCR-50? are you out of your mind!?!?! arnt the TD-8's like $1700? arnt the PCR-50's...like $200 max?
keep the TD-8's because whether you like rock or not, drums are fun! if you can afford a seventeen hundred dollar electronic drumset, buying a new PCR-50 shouldn't be much of a big deal.
if you only have the drum module and not the full midi pad set up, that alone is worth $700+. if you dont have the full drum kit, i can see why the TD-8 would be somewhat useless. if thats the case, at least sell the module for a proper price, instead of trading.

Thanks man for your advice! and yes I only have the TD-8 module I don’t even have the power supply but my vestex 15v psw WORKS FINE on it so no problems powering the unit up!
I mess around with the units sounds and percussions WOW it sound ultra smooth and realistic never heard any hardware unit give sounds like that before!!!! Anyway about that swap I do just do trance so what I need to complete my little studio in my room is some sort of a MIDI controller my budget is a bit tight right now so I cant afford to buy the MIDI controller
Now but hey! Wait if some can offer me some money I will be willing to sell the dam thing its just collecting dust anyway!
Anyway thanks for the advice man!
Did you know? 2 monitor improves making music I mean really running FL studio 5 and reason 2.5 separately increased my productivity by 40%!!!
Just try it im not kidding !
Cheers

I guess Alberton Live by itself just wasn't cutting it.

I didn't see that post...
Well here's my "studio" lol -
1.
2.
3.
It's small I know but I like it...not stuffed and all...only thing I wouldn't mind is a double stand with a NordLead 2X/3X and Virus TI Keyboard and rack stand with a JP 8080 (or 8000 forgot the name of the keyboardless one)...and monitors...and a sound card...and...:P
hehe...What I got here...?
1. OLDDDD (20-25 years I assume) Marantz AMP...Should be 100W-150W...
2. 15 Band Stereo Graphic EQ by Peavey.
3. 2 Panaosic Passive Speakers...believe it or not they do sound good with the EQ...hehe
4. PC:
P4 3.4Ghz, 1GB or Corsiar CMX CL2, OnBoard SoundCard (no money).
5. Seq's -
I use Cubase SX2 (mainly) and except that I got FLS5, Logic 5.5, Nuendo 2, Reason 3 and Live 5 (need to install) and I use them all but partly.
6. VST/i's -
More the a few I can say...Main ones are prolly Atmosphere, ES2, Discovery, AudioRealism Bassline, V-Station, Vanguard and some more...
Working on getting an RME soundcard, a Pair of Mackie HR624 and a Virus would be great aswell but it will take sometime.

^ u need to save up those pennies and get a soundcard bro...your comp specs look pretty good...but how is cubase even functional using onboard sound? u must be getting like 400ms latecy and forget recording anything in to your computer cause it would sound like someone is hacking away on a weedwacker in the background...
ahwell, us music producers have gotten ourselves into a freakin expensive hobby...there will always be something to spend our dollars on, thats for sure.
