Exclamation New Talent: Andy Jay Powell

Well,he isn't "new" in that sense, since he's been producing since 1998,but I don't think he ever has gotten that much attention. So therefore, this thread is for giving Andy a well-deserved spotlight.

His latest set on SSL (27.05.03) is simply a delicious collection of swirling melodies that are bursting with that lush summer feeling trance can give at its best.Even though his mixing is a bit odd(he favours short transitions instead of those long ones, plus he just lets the records play out when there's commercial breaks coming up), this still doesn't detract from how incredibly soothing his selection of tunes sounds. On top of that he makes some very nice tunes as well.AJP - Summerwave sounds like Ralphie B with a dash of Ronski Speed, yet with enough distinctiveness to stand out. Savon - Way To Heaven is quite nice, too.

It's just so refreshing to see a german dj play pure uplifting goodness for once, when they so often are plagued with german hard cheese. So Andy, big up to ya!
