Question Vestax OR Pioneer OR TASCAM?

I am confused, i am hearing mixed reviews about all these mixers!

I decided initially to go with a Vestax PCV 275

Then i saw a lot of people recommend the DJM 600 because it has effects

Then i see someone recommend the Tascam X-9, because the DJM has problems

What should i get?

I have 2 Pioneer CDJ Cd players

Thanks
Confused

If you can go all out (and I'm talking like $1500 CND for a mixer), the Rane, Allen and Health, and of course Pioneer mixers are the best choice.

I was playing with a DJM-500 today at a club, and I'm already slightly addicted to the effects. However, having to pay for university tuition, the chances of me plunking down $1500 on a mixer is slim right now.

My $250 Behringer VMX-200 is doing the trick quite nicely.

I would go with the vestax. I have this mixer now, and i love it. It will be considerably cheaper than the 500/600 or the X9.

while these mixers are good, you need to ask yourself, do you NEED 4 channels, and FX? if you do, then it's worth the extra dosh.

with a vestax PCV 275, you only get 3 channels, but you can still add TTs later easily, and have a spare channel. it has 6 line inputs, and 3 phono, (but only 3 of those nine can play at once).

ask yourself, would you ever really have more than 3 sources in the mix at once?

and as for FX, the vestax has an FX loop, so you can always buy one of these:

that way you are much more flexible. if it breaks, you can still mix.

And, i hear the DJM500 and 600 tend to break down a lot. and the X9 is a purely digital mixer, and earlier versions had delay on the Eqs and stuff (although that might be fixed now).

I would easily go Vestax because of the quality you get for the price even if it's quite expensive compared to most brands of the same sort. If you want fx, channels, sampler and x-fader curves go Pioneer of you are made of money.

Forget any Vestax mixers, they are simply POS. No parts available anymore, and faders do break quite often. When are people going to realize that Pioneer mixers are an ancient technology, they are from last century, literally, hehehe , and talk about sampler and effects, Pioneer still uses only 16bit digital when even the entry level mixers like Numark are using 24bit digital technology. If you want newest technology, great sound output, clearity, multiple features, etc. Get either Rane Empath, Rane MP44, Allen and Heath Xone 32 or 62(but only if you have a big sound system) or Tascam X-9,which I personally have and it made quite a few friends and others Pioneer owners quickly put their mixers up on Ebay.

This is what I can do for you for mixers:

Vestax -- Sorry POS, my store doesn't even carry them anymore

Rane Empath -- USD $840.00
Allen & Heath Xone 32 -- USD $640.00
Allen & Heath Xone 62 -- USD $1050.00
Tascam X-9 -- USD $900.00

PM if you are interested. Cheers.

WTF are you talking about. I think you have your facts backwards. Vestax uses the pcv faders which are good for an ungodly amount slides. Pioneer sliders are always going bad and are always having to be replaced. I am convinced the only reason clubs/big DJs use the Pioneer over lets say the Vestax and am external fx processor is for the convenience of having all in one and the fact that they can afford to constantly replace the x-fader. I definatly recommend the 275 over a Pioneer.

Yeah, Ok mr. I got my facts backwards, use SEARCH function and find out that Vestax has been going downhill for a few years now. People are more and more preferring Numark, Behringer, and Stanton over Vestax mixers, cause the are POS. There are numerous requests for cross faders and there is nothing that can be done, 'cause they are simply not available. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A REQUEST NOR ORDER FOR ANY PIONEER CROSSFADERS.

this is my opinion for the three mixers

vestax 275ver all good mixer but i think its more for scratching it has a heavy over all feel to the channel and X faders and also if ur looking for que pan it dont got it

djm 600: over all good mixer i got one for myself =), but u dont really need all those effects...i dun seem to use it much at all =(
but it does have que pan,bpm counter and nice sliding faders which is nice for doing cuts and they aint got the flimsy feeling to them

tascam x9: probably a great mixer spec wise etc...has alot of extra channels i think 6 but u might not use them all...but the sliders are real sensitive... bpm counter i think aslo

if ur strap for cash maybe a djm500 would do u just wont have the effects and the que pan but its a still good mixer!

if i was u i got find some stores and test them out like the feel of the mixer, how much cut u want in ur trebs mids lows, how many channels etc.. and see what what best suits you.

if u want to get a cheap djm600 around $900 U.S. about 1400 canadian, u can also ask if he can find away to relieve u of duties and such if ur in canada =)
check out ebay
[email protected]
he got some real good deals on pioneer stuff full warranty also...thats where i got mine

just my opinion hope that helps maxtuh
