Huge overeaction sunshine! I actually listen to quite a bit more house than trance. I just don't like going to house music parties, where I'm from at least, because of the crowd make up. If you feel the need to spend a quarter of your income or more on portraying an image, well that's good for you. As for calling me a kiddy raver, go right ahead. I know I don't fall into any of the sterotypes you just described, and therefore I don't take any offense.

So yea, in polls, a dj poll is the same as a producer poll.

so being mechanic makes you a nascar driver?

I'm afraid this fellow is a bit too thick for analogies.

Oh well - on with the pointless whining that really should have taken place well prior to the results having been posted.

It's funny to me.

Yea, DJing is a skill away from production, but id rather see the mind behind the track and not the one playing it with other tracks. Therefore, im sure many did the same and voted for the top 10 you see here. Some of the best tracks ive heard this year were from A&B, yet they dont dj as well. I still voted for them, becuase without their tracks, the djs that dont produce have nothing.

How do producers get recognition in order to play their music...idiot (sorry, back at ya buddy)? No producer can play tracks on a cd player at a club. THey have to spin - learn to spin. Therefore, every producer gets dubbed a dj. DJ meaning plays music at a club. Dont give me the whole dj is disc jockey crap. When you say who is playing at a club you say dj .... even if they are producers. Those producers arnt considered master djs , but known for their productions. So yea, in overall, to play your tracks as an EDM producer, you MUST be a DJ. Therefore...everyone is a dj in this case. Now, with that said, this is a dj poll, so producers count just as much as those who dont but master the art of djing.

How am i flat out wrong? For the most part i am right. Dont look at the rare few, look at the many. In order to play your tracks live, you have to dj (mix them with other tracks using decks). Unless its a full on live show, you cant play a song start to end at a club or venue as a producer in the EDM genre. I mean if its all computer work and you dont use abelton and what not, you are limited to either learning to dj or never sharing your music at a gig.

Congratulations, you just placed yourself on the highest echelon of the imbecile scale.

Plain and simple. about 90% of the people who come across him live in person are simply blown away. The energy he brings and the vibe he creates some of the most intense i've ever seen. It's surreal. I have NEVER seen another DJ clear out every other room (including the hip-hop room) in a club and draw them into the mainroom he was playing that. He did just that when he played here last year (which was his first ever gig in North America0 A lot of old schoolers (usually people who throw the parties) say he creates an energy they haven't seen around since the early 90s. Think that's saying something.

Ferry Corsten didn't start DJing until after he started producing and he was pretty darn when he first started but it only took him a few years to become world renound. Why can't someone else do the same thing.

Your right about sander van doorn, but for me its way to early to be in the top 5 now, no way....he does put a mindblowing performance, no question, i just think in the near future it would have been more suitable to be number 5

Simple as that. Doesn't matter how good they are at producing. Thats not what this poll is about. Its about how good they are at DJ'ing.

Let me give you an analogy to help drill the message home.

You are in a restaurant havving a meal. The chef in the kitchen is also waiting tables. He is a brilliant chef, his food is unbelievable, the best you've tasted. But his skills as a waiter are terrible. He is ill mannered, didn't offer you any drinks and ignored you when you asked for sauces.

The next day you are asked by a friend who do you think is the best waiter or waitress you have ever come across.

Would you name the chef because his food was the best even though he was a crap waiter? Of course you wouldn't.

Just like you wouldn't name a shit DJ as being the best DJ there is just beacuse his productions are good....oh wait a minute...you would

That's an excellent analogy, hits the nail on the head!

Exactly what I was trying to say
