Anyone ever conflicted about going to see a doctor?
I've seen my neurologist for 10 years now, in an attempt to figure out why my legs are extremely weak and more recently why I've been falling down all the time for no reason.
I have an appointment with him next week and I'm just thinking to myself do I really want him to find out what's wrong because of how bad it might be or do I want to remain in the dark.
Stupid right? I don't know... |
It isn't stupid to feel that way, but it would be stupid to ignore something potentially serious. Finding out something wrong and actually being able to deal with/manage it is way better than finding out when it's too late. Either way you will still have to experience and cope with all of the same feeling of fear, anger, sadness, etc. I take care of people who avoid doctors until it's too late a lot, and believe me you don't want that.
