Fortunately, I assume, you will be on a flight for a few hours....because you'll want to keep some weight off it. If you can wrap it with a tensor bandage or some other kind of stability device, that would also be good.

For years I have experienced a strange, totally sporadic, chest pain. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like I have a bubble in my lung - producing an extremely sharp pain upon inspiration, that doesn't go away until I actually take a deep breath and feel the "bubble" "pop".
I even went to the ER once, because I got paranoid that maybe it was a blood clot in my lung and I would have a stroke (lol, still a smoker back then). They did an ECG and all kinds of blood tests and the doctor told me it was nothing - likely just inflammation of the muscles in and around my ribcage. I wasn't really satisfied with that answer..it didn't seem inclusive enough based on my symptoms. Additionally, I know other people who have experienced this same thing - there HAS to be a name for it!
So today I got the pain again - but it lasted far longer than it normally does. I googled my exact description of the pain and discovered that what I have is called precordial catch syndrome.

Thank you, internet!

The worst thing about it is that, unless you have a 12 lead on WHILE you're experiencing the pain - there's really no way to know that it is, in fact, your heart. I mean, unless you did at some point have a huge fucking MI...then it would show up as q waves regardless. But then you would have already known that for sure. Sooooooooooooooo yeah.
