Okay, I suppose. The first time I was quite drunk and don't remember a great deal. The second time, the sound system was poorly balanced (unusual for this city) and negatively affected my enjoyment. I wasn't particularly impressed with his DJing though. I'm not averse to DJs rapidly changing tempo or even stopping the music and starting at a completely new speed. However, he seemed to fuck with it endlessly. There were plenty of times when there were long sections of extremely audible slowing or speeding of the record. That said, he's young and I'm sure he'll start to improve. I'll be seeing him again in a couple of weeks. Will report back after that.

Also at Fusion they have built so many cool things all around the area. At dusk especially it's really really trippy to walk around, even if you aren't on anything (but it helps ) and half the people are dressed like they have escaped from a carnivale haha. |
Yeah, the vibe seems to be a lot more hippy-oriented, which is more my thing than these big commercial festivals. My favourite festival in Australia is Rainbow Serpent: http://www.rainbowserpent.net/
It's as you described; everyone gets dressed in funny clothes (one guy has this huge Lego man outfit, for instance) and they have heaps of interesting decorations. One year there was this massive laser grid projected onto a hill a kilometre or so away, and we spent the whole night debating whether it was real or just a trick of our collective intoxication.
