how about a most skilled DJ of the last year poll instead of a completely useless popularity contest?

Because the lowest common denominator has already proven themselves utterly incapable of comprehending such a contest.

Not going to happen - these polls will always be what they already are:

...no matter what you try to call them.

There should be a massive disclaimer then, stating that the general public that voted for said people has the IQ of a rock and shit taste in EDM overall. This list should be taken with a grain of salt.

Any list like this should be, they're really only fun because of the reactions they elicit.

Heh, and this is why I abstain from such polls. Hate to be associated with the terminally thick.

When you say who is playing at a club you say dj .... even if they are producers. Those producers arnt considered master djs , but known for their productions. So yea, in overall, to play your tracks as an EDM producer, you MUST be a DJ. Therefore...everyone is a dj in this case. Now, with that said, this is a dj poll, so producers count just as much as those who dont but master the art of djing.

you're wrong. dj's play tracks made by producers, that's how producers get recognition and that's how they make their money too, because people buy their tracks and records. dj's play other people's music but are in an entirely different category. there is a HUUUUUGEEEEE difference between a good dj and a producer....and very few producers are also good dj's....and those that are good dj's as well as producers, only make like 2-3 of their own tracks a year. when you vote in a poll like this, you vote for a dj who because their sets stand out above all, not because you like their own tracks or because they play them in their sets.
