I could give a shit about the 1-2 minute transitions a dj pulls using filters and faders and effects. It comes down to the tracks they play. And if a producer plays a bunch of killer tracks, order doesnt matter because all tracks are good. There is no need for a slow start to a high end. One by one they all kick ass. When you leave an event, people ask what tracks that dj played that were his - like did prdyz play any pryda tracks... not did he transition well from track to track. That is the second question asked. I dont step into a club and when i hear a transition coming i focus so hard to pick up the transition. Hell, everyone cheers when the transition ends and when the actual song begins that they want. So im saing for many and myself, its the track seletion not order. If every track is great, the set is great. If this is a producer playing their tracks live, i go to support the tracks the producer made and not his djing skills. He just HAS TO dj to be able to play them himself/herself. So with tiesto and pvd and armin and all, that you all complain about, people voted because they feel the tracks kicked ass one by one, and not who used filters this way and that. If producers soley gave tracks to "djs" and didnt want to play them themselves, then dj polls woiuld truly be about dj skills and not track selection because its all in the hands of the dj to pick what tracks from producers to play.

yea... a dj to me is someone who plays good tracks. If some producer has amazing tracks and plays those in with other great tracks, they get my vote. That to me is being a dj. Not transitioning but having a great set. And to me a set isnt about slow start to high end, its one track after another. So for instance A&B get my vote because they throw amazing tracks with no order for transitions, they start amazing right off the bat. They dont transition the best, but when they dj at a club, they own it.

It does take flow, it DOES take some progression and it takes a LOT more than just playing all your bombs one after another, your CD case would empty pretty fucking quickly and the novelty of going to see that DJ would wear off REALLY fast if all they did every gig was play all their biggest tunes in a row with 0 order or flow.

Think about what you're saying man, you sound like a pill popping n00b to me.

Actually far from a noob but its cool. I know it takes order but that isnt the big thing in deciding if you like a dj or not. It comes down to what they play. Why is there a demand for playlist and not effectlist and discussions on how they transition and mix between tracks? And why would someone run out of hits? If a dj brings noth9ing but killer hits from their own tracks and others, how is that a shitty night? Why go through the shitty 5 boring intro tracks before you get to the good ones? Like Sasha, i hate his dj skills becuase of this. He starts of with 5-6 tracks that kills all the hype that was there from the intro dj. Sasha messes with filters over and over before he truly gets people liking his sets - when the tracks he really wants to play kick in. I find this retarded. THere are opening djs to set people going, the headliner doesnt need to do this all over again, killing the crowd and then leading them back up.


Whatever, to each their own, its a poll when it comes down to it. But hey, if i am so wrong, how did armin and pvd and what not make it so high? They dont dj as well as the ones you mention here in the complaints section that are ranked so low. The sets are top notch because of the track selection.
