producers are on because they dj. Therefore... they are djs. ANd if they have good sets, then they make top 10. Sets doesnt mean dj skills in effects and filters, its having a good tracklist. Transitions are the last thing on most peoples mind. So if a good producer plays their hits one by one and other good hits, with crappy transitions, the music is still great and people still dnace, making them top 10 djs.
You think that the only thing that matters from a dj is a playlist?
Also, anyone that plays their own tracks in succession for an entire night isn't a dj. They're playing a live set. I've never heard of a dj/producer playing nothing but their entire sets and it not being a 'live' set. I mean well, aside from Sean Tyas...but that's only because no one else plays that shit.

So basically you are saying this:
AvB Live @ Nature One 2007 (2007-08-04)
01. Dubfire - Roadkill (Breakfast Remix)
02. FKN feat. Jahala - Why (Aly & Fila Remix)
03. Ferry Tayle & Tonks - Vol De Nuit (Terry Bones Remix)
04. Pascal Feliz - From Inside The Speaker (Part 1)
05. Kyo & Gil - Ultima
06. John O'Callaghan feat. Audrey Gallagher - Big Sky (Agnelli & Nelson Remix)
07. Above & Beyond pres. Tranquility Base - Oceanic
08. Armin van Buuren - Rush Hour
09. Thomas Bronzwaer - Resound
10. Simon Patterson - Bulldozer
11. Sean Tyas pres. Logistic - One More Night Out
12. Armin van Buuren feat. Susana - If You Should Go
13. Armin van Buuren feat. Jan Vayne - Serenity (Signum Remix) (Sensation White Anthem 2005)
14. Nenes & Pascal Feliz - Platinum (Tech Mix)
15. Filo & Peri feat. Eric Lumiere - Anthem (John O'Callaghan Remix)
is better than this:
JZab Live @ Vision, Chicago (2007-07-28)
01 Joris Voorn - Another Place
02 Yaron Cohen - Polar Lights (Dave Robertson Mix)
03 Dave Robertson - Love To
04 Paul Jackson - The Non-Stop

10 Audiojack - Japan 4
11 Red Jackson - Coming Clean (Audiojack Dub)
12 Deadmau5 - Not Exactly
13 Unknown - Unknown
14 Lunatik - Yeahuhuhrightthatsit
15 Unknown - Unknown
16 Deadmau5 - Faxing Berlin
17 Bjork - Joja (Introvert Mix / JZ Edit)

19 Cirez D - Tigerstyle
20 Unknown - Unknown
21 Adam Beyer - China Girl
22 Junior Boys - In The Morning (Hot Chip Mix)
23 James Zabiela - Preserverance (Super Unfinished Version)
24 Solee - Impressed
25 Deadmau5 - Jaded
26 Joris Voorn vs. Thom Yorke - Erased Blank (Zabiela Mashup Mix - Unfinished Version)
Also, element-y, please stop assuming that the only thing a DJ has to do to be successful is throw random, maybe even popular tracks on a mixer and press play. If that was the case you'd have little reason in justifying paying 30 bucks to see someone like Carl Cox as opposed to just going to a random club that plays house music, right?

The point i was making is to attack those who say producers arnt djs when they are. The ones that dont dj i agree with, shoudnt be on this list. But that wasnt why this started.
And yea, whats wrong with a dj who plays many of their own tracks? I love that. I think if they are new tracks play them. We go to support eh artists who made the song, spent hours and hours in production. Its like going to see a rock band. You support the song process. And it isnt a live set if they dont play anything live. They just dj it. Thats the example i gave. If someone produces and doesnt know how to play anything live, they must learn to mix between songs.
I thought darudes set this year was one of the best ive ehard because he didnt give a shit about people saying producers shoudnt play many of their own tracks. He did as a true artist should. SHowcase your work. You spend so long making each track, enjoy having the pleasure to play them in fornt of people.

No, producers aren't DJ's. DJ's are DJ's.

as with wotzyoids example, yea i think armins is better because its my musical taste. I see each track and i like it for the most part. SO no matter how the transitions are, when the transition ends and the track comes in its great. That is what i look for in a set.

If i remember correctly the discussion started when you said you voted above & beyond because you like their productions. Then you went on to say that if you're a good producer you're automatically a good dj even if the case is that you're a shit dj. You've already made it clear for us that you're the biggest idiot alive, it's alright we got it, you can relax now.

Oooohhn...well damn. Then clearly your opinon is totally useless.
edit // for the record, there's nothing wrong with a dj playing nothing but his own tracks. It just sounds so terribly boring.

It's not about fucking genres, dumbass, its about good music and bad music. If you call Filo and Peri - The Anthem (Joc remix) good music than you're not much smarter than the element retard.

Then you clearly don't appreciate good djing, you only appreciate tracks you like. I'm not usually the one who glorifies DJs, but with your line of thinking the DJ is completely unnecessary.
