Out there we'd be served fruit, muffins, cereal, toast, cooked things like eggs & peameal etc and they'd expect you to eat most of those things as just one long breakfast. Here it's more like you have cereal & a cup of tea & that's it. I noted how much better I feel when I'd had a substantial breakfast, how I lacked mega-hunger before lunch etc. I guess we can learn things from you hosers eh |
They have done much reasearch on the way meals should be, They find that the largest meal of the day should be breakfast. Reason being, is that your first meal sets your energy level for the whole day, kickstarts your metabolism, and gives your body the much needed nutrients it spent while sleeping. So have a large breakfast, a mid size lunch, and a small dinner, and you will notice a HUGE change in your energy level.

I hate eating a big breakfast. I eat a big dinner.
Meals do not "kick start your metabolism" anyway, and the whole idea that skipping meals slows your metabolism or that eating lots of small meals will make you lose weight is BS:
quote: | I’d note, tangentially and I’ll come back to this below, that there is no data in humans that skipping a single meal or even a day’s worth of meals does anything to metabolic rate. Human metabolism simply doesn’t operate that quickly and various research into both fasting and intermittent fasting show, if anything, a slight (~5% or so) increase in metabolic rate during the initial period of fasting. The idea that skipping breakfast or a single meal slows metabolic rate or induces a starvation response is simply nonsensical. |

Metabolism is slower in the morning because you just got done not moving for seven or eight hours, not because you didn't eat while sleeping.
