I know from experience Markus tends to get it in the neck quite a lot because he's guaranteed to have a minimum of one liveset a month going out on the air and ripped through the GDJB World Tour.
It's really difficult striking that balance of pleasing the fans who are paying into the clubs and festivals to be entertained, and people who are listening on the radio or online. The credit should go to the guys who do make an effort to change things up because they consciously think about all the fans, unlike the ones who have their set completely pre-programmed from the first minute and couldn't give a shit. |
I cant think of any top trance dj or any top dj period that changes their set even month to month nowadays. The internet and radio shows have a lot to answer for taking the mystery out of dance music but in a lot of ways it means for me anyway that I anticipate what its going to be like live when it does come around which is a huge thing.
Like tonight can only imagine what that Leon Bolier track send a crowd like, even a boring dutch one (sorry guys! hahaha).
Of trance djs only folk like John Askew really change their set drastically on a daily basis, but thats cuz he recieves so much music with it. Even someone like JOOF plays that same tunes quite a lot and he is as progressive as it gets.
