I'm not a fan of weddings either, I think they're an inconvenience. I don't believe people should host weddings if they can't afford them. Neither of us is missing out on shit because of it, and I think if it comes down to that, then it's clearly a bad choice or not the right time.

Anyway, we aren't having a traditional wedding at all. There's a lot of shit we aren't doing simply because neither of us gives a shit, and I know most people don't give a shit about the same stuff either.

We're basically throwing a really nice dress up dinner party with free booze and dancing. The only crap people care about at weddings is the food, music, and booze. I don't like elaborate shit to begin with.

Eh, been to one wedding you've been to 'em all. I see nothing wrong with showing one's closest friends and family a nice time by way of a delicious meal and getting 'em liquored up. It's not really any different than hosting the family Christmas - it just involves people getting married.

Certainly isn't for everyone and I can see why. Lucky for me I have a VERY small family, which keeps our guest list small.

I want to get married and have a plan to keep it small.

I am marrying a divorcee who's dream wedding has already been crushed. She will be too embarrassed to have another big wedding and will want to keep it small.

30-40 people max is what Im dreaming of. Something off the beaten path like a bocce ball court.

I don't see the fun in having a huge wedding. You have to be all polite to your guests and shake everyone's fuckin hand and all that formal bullshit - no thanks. It's just so impersonal.

I'm just simply laughing at "none of us gives a shit but we hired a wedding planner."

We hired a wedding planner exactly because we don't want to deal with it. She does everything, all we have to do is show up and enjoy ourselves.
