The problem with air travel is the speed for the cost. An economy seat is far more justifiable for the amount of time you will be using it compared to other modes of transport. Unless all you do is fly, then really there is no need to waste money on upgrading.
The only time I could ever see it is flying across multiple hemispheres, say from NA to Australia, or SA to Asia. Anything less than or equal to 12 hours is not worth the cost, unless you are a fat fuck. Just fall asleep (unless you can't, then you are just a pussy).

A) been called 'tall'
B) been the one paying for the ticket
So you'd spend up to 5x-10x the cost of a economy ticket to make your legs feel better for 8-12 hours.
Pussy. It already costs 1200$ to fly across the Pacific, spending 5x that much just for comfort seems rather foolish.
Also, wouldn't B) somewhat justify me arguing a position like this?

Never having paid for the ticket makes your statements regarding 'value' even less relevant than their actual content already is.

I'm shortish, 5'8-9ish, but I find Economy to be incredibly uncomfortable. I don't see it being worth 5k uncomfortable.
I'd rather fly economy and spend extra money on a direct flight than upgrade, dealing with airports is far more of a hassle and annoyance than dealing with cramped legs.

You are a fucking grade A retard. Seriously, read your arguments coming from the point of view of what I am arguing and see how fucking much more sense it makes.

disagree.
depends on the cost of the upgrade, length of flight, mood at time of boarding, level of being hungover, how many babies are screaming in the lounge, etc. i don't particularly enjoy being in coach on a full flight > six hours in coach. i'm tall (taller than you), fly often, and find a distinct value to being comfortable and getting those nifty fast track passes for customs.
