What the hell? I didn't realize there were so many people with neurological issues here.
And not all seizure medications are the heavy duty-risk of more seizure kind. Shit like benzos for sure should never be stopped abruptly for that reason, but there's all kinds of other meds out there. Valprioc acid, Dilantin, etc. There are quite a few options depending on exactly which type of seizures a person has. |
Sound advice. I took Beta blockers for quite some time because I have a slight tremor due to severe concussions as a teen/young adult. Long story short, the drug ended up lowering my blood pressure way way too much so I was taken off of it. I stopped right away, cold turkey, and never had any problems.
I've had 2 seizures that I can tell of in my life.
The first one was in winter outside during the middle of the n night smoking a joint outside of a friend's parents house around 17. Apparently i just hit the snow and started doing the "bacon dance". My firend, scared shitless, did not know what to do so he started smacking me in the face. When i snapped out of it i had plam marks all over my face
Second time sucked the most. I sprained my finger during Basketball practice in college. They sent me to our physio room for freeze and tape. All of the athletics programs used the same room so there were like 40 people there. While getting taped out i lost consciousness, had a seizure, and pissed myself in front of everyone. Needless to say i was really embarassed, but the good thing was that ended up getting me some "pity sex" a few weeks later.
I have to go see a specialist once a year for check ups, but everything has been A+, no seizures since then. Medecine is indeed awesome these days.
