I hear it just might be a spundae event too. :-p
does it really matter? does the "knowledgeable" clubber attend friday over saturday based on it being spundae?
If you were in SF still, I can't picture you attending a steve aoki spundae promoted show(i think they have brought him out twice) and then passing on markus schulz on saturday because it was not a spundae promoted event.

Does it bother you so much you feel the need to reply to ask if it really matters at all?
First, people do support promoters. And different promoters bring out different crowds.
Second, it was just me being excited that Spundae is a part of it. There's no need to overanalyze what was being said.
Third...seriously...did it bother you that much?

didnt bother me at all.
the fact john is playing sf should be priority number 1. regardless of torq, spundae, mixed elements, djluxor presents. i think all the digweed fans in sf will agree.
and as for supporting promoters, that was the point of my aoki/schulz comment(which you ignored). if its all based on supporting the promoter, you go to aoki, but not markus(thus the whole "does it really matter who brings out a favorite artist")
but if people are going to base their decision on attending oct 21 based on it being spundae presents as opposed to ruby skye presents, then those are the people with issues.

No I am saying that I would support both the promoter and the DJ. I don't care what promoter a DJ plays for, if I can make it I will make it. The only exception might be if it's a massive vs a club event. But that's more about the environment type vs the promoter or event.
As in, if Aoki played for Spundae and Markus played at some other venue, and I was just free to run around all night...I'd do both. I'd try stop by Aoki to show support to Spundae because I help them out, and I'd also be sure to go to Markus. Heck, it's Markus! I made it no secret when I started helping Spundae that I was not going to stop being who I am and support who I support. Guiv and rest oft he team respect that and it's never been an issue.
And my whole point originally was who the hell cares if I mention it's a Spundae event. The only people would be those who look out if something is a Spundae event. And while the number of people who care could be small...well, again, who cares. Those extra few words dont' hurt anyone. At all. If you don't care about that fact, then ignore the fact it's mentioned. Simple as that.
Can't we all just get along!? /cliche

with the above statements - as for me, promoters booking for club events doesnt bother me as much as massives. With massives its pretty important. With clubs, it does as well as was a point made earlier that a different crowd will show up no matter who the performer is. fact is every promoter has their own form of marketing and therefore markets will overlap at times and will also not. Therefore some nights a certain dj who is booked with one promoter will do much better than booked under a different promoter. And yes - even a top 20 djmag artist - have seen this happen many times before. Does it matter to the majority - probably not. But when there is competition between the one event and others, i think promoter has a lot to do with how the event gets played out and attendance.
