Oh, wait...I did.
I got into the #15 school but I didn't want to go there because I was 99% sure that the only reason was that I was a 3rd generation legacy, and both my grandfather and great grandfather had donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to them throughout the years. That and it was too large of a school imo.
What was the top 15 that you left?

That guy is entirely right. Throughout my 4 years at U of R, total costs went from about 41-46,000 per year. I know many of my classmates who have still yet to land a decent job (I graduated in 2009). Unless you have a special skill, or a select few types of degrees, even a diploma from Harvard isn't a ticket to success. I even know people from my class who went to my school undergrad and then my school's graduate school of education, and are now making less money than I do. It's pretty fucking frustrating the "value" of these diplomas compared to what they're actually worth in the real world. Sure, it's a nice thing to hang on your wall, but with the ever increasing number of students going to institutions of higher education, it's most certainly not the guarantee of a successful career as it once was.

This seems to be the big trend this year in technical / libertarian crowds, talking about the worthlessness of college. Most of the babble strangely coming from fucking people who went to college, LOL.

Just tried to buy some shit from Officeworks on my Visa Debit card. Wouldn't go through, so I check the account. All good, money on the account. So what the fuck?
Card numbers ended up being compromised, and some fucker tried to buy $450 worth of something on Amazon UK.
Bank caught it though, and blocked the transactions/cancelled my card number. Thanks, ANZ!

I don't find that surprising considering many students are now over $200,000 in debt with nothing to show for it.
