no, it isnt a reach for the mixer, its fine if i put the efx500 behind the mixer i wouldn't be able to reach that, as the mixer is a taller bit of kit (plus i like the mixer to be raised at the back if possible). what importance it has to me really has no relevence as to where i put it, its just where it will fit/work best for me to be able to get to things quickly & easily.
dj chex: i love the axis9! i am impressed at how impressed with it i am.. and it has sleep!!! (reverse that goes back to where it would have been if you didnt reverse).
Wildfir3: teh fekkin technics have been stomped on by the sheer meat of the pdx's i have had no overheating problems with them.. i didnt know there was such problems with them... u had any?

Dunno thought i heard about pdx engines heating up and all, that's why i'm asking. I don't have pdx's so not a bother for me anyway

Are you satisfied with that Numark mixer ?
I bought it too but after a few months the faders are not as good as they used to be and the EQ knobs are not good either. When I turn them down the effect is almost nothing just until I kill it. Especially the low EQ. Sometimes it sounds horrible and it's rather difficult to mix really smoothly !!! Any tips or hints for me ? Or shall I just buy another mixer?

Here's my current setup in my room, without flash lookin glowy:
with the flash:
with a buddy over and another M3D
and a few more of me down at the park, where we haul down the decks and mixer, a deep cycle battery, a 15" 3 way speaker for the people, and a bookshelf monitor for the DJ every weekend and put on a free show, while people play hackey sack, volleyball, frisbee etc.
We play till the sun goes down, by then the battery is usally dead anyway.
And here's another one in a sweet DJ booth we created in this warehouse sorta deal:

Damn that's creative. Never thought of playing at a park. The only bad thing i can see is complants from people. Keep up the good deed!

yeah, we love it, and nobody complains.. well, except the jocks with the escalade pumping out hip hop.. but it's nowhere near as loud as our system, so they leave quite soon.
There is the occasional drunk fool that comes up and asks "can I try" and we say no, but that is anywhere i guess.

i used to have a very similar mixer, in chrome and black.. it did exactly what you describesd, as do most numark mixers so i have heard.
