Seems alright to me. Only, personally, I never shorten "I am" to "I'm" in professional emails. Actually, that goes for all contractions...I just never do it/prefer to leave the whole words.
Thanks! I remember I once heard someone say contractions are too informal, but I'm so used to them that I didn't even notice

Its well written but this part could be simplified and the parentheses removed. They are frowned upon in formal writing. Also student I believe isn't capitalized. You could say:
What is expected from a PhD student? Do you have any suggestions on how an international applicant would prepare themselves for such a program?
I see, thanks! I really liked this suggestion

I saw Moby a few years ago. Was a great show.
Hope you enjoy it! Be safe
Musically speaking it was great: he played my favourite track (Feeling So Real) and some of his classics (such as Bodyrock) but I was in the front row and watching him was not a pleasant experience at all.
I mean, I can enjoy some live instrumentation on the stage. The Prodigy does it too, and it's awesome. But, I felt cheated because he had this band on the stage pretending to play even when there was nothing they could be possibly doing. Not to mention that he kept pretending he was strumming his guitar even there were no guitars on the song. That totally ruined Porcelain for me
I mean, why is he plucking the strings when there's nothing playing except for the violins?
But, apart from that, I'm really happy. I remember when I bought the single of "Feeling So Real" in high school and having Moby in Brasilia sounded so impossible I wouldn't have EVER imagined that I'd see him live, for free, at the most beautiful spot of the city. I'm going to post the pics in the other thread as soon as I get home

Woot, I found an excuse to ride The Empire Builder in a couple weeks.
Such a beautiful ride! Going to the Apple Blossom Festival in Wenatchee, so its a short ride there.

Guys - what's the video someone posted up recently where they 'cover' Creed's songs and they just play the proper musical instruments - just terribly - over the music video.
My brother sent me and my dad this song that guy from Creed did about the Florida Marlins baseball team - yeah, it's HORRIBLE.. so I wanna reply with that video.
helllllllllllp - thanks!
edit - SHREDS - i got it!

At least at first it doesnt sound like its playing, but after you hear clearly the guitar you can hear him plucking the guitar in tune to the violin on its attack of each note. It gives it that sorta more distorted fuller sound you wouldn't get with just the violin.

It is, the Stevens Pass route over the Cascade Mountains is incredibly beautiful. There is also an 8 mile tunnel on the route, one of the longest deep bore tunnels in the world!

God I hate that singer so fucking much. I want to stuff broken glass into his ears so he knows what it feels like to listen to his own mouth noises.

I still think he's fing-synching!
He's a producer, for Christ's sake, how hard is it to just hide behind a wall of synths as you do in the studio!?

haha yep, except when you've got a dud BMW rental car driving through there that's lucky to hit 160km/h... Back home at the time I had a 300ZX that would crack 260+ in race trim and fairly much nowhere to stretch its legs.
Our roads are rubbish.
Oh the 300ZX was a sweet ride. Sooooo much nicer than the 350Z, someone i know has his tuned to about 600HP. The ground shakes and old ladies close their windows in terror every time he turns the engine on. Soooo much nicer than the 350Z.
And how many cylinders was that BMW running on to barely hit 160? Two? Im sure that people at BMW would bow their heads in shame if they knew that somewhere out there theres a BMW in such a bad shape that it Barely reaches 160.

2.30 Am, a few kilometers long strets of perfectly straight higways, no traffic whatsoever (even the truckers were somewhere else), just me behind the wheel, my dad and his boss in the bosses Cayenne Turbo GTS...and hen i hear the magical words "Go for it, see for yourself how much it can do". Porsche indeed doesnt care about the agreement between the german aoutomakers about limiting their cars to 250kph...
