Going way back in time, listening this masterpiece of a remix when I was 10 years old, and still remember it.

Ben Liebrand einer der genialsten Remixer auf unserem Planeten

Ben Liebrand Minimix 24-05-1985 - Paul Hardcastle - Megamix

One of the remixes from 1989 one never forgets, this disco dance floor bomb:

Yes it is: http://www.liebrand.nl/iconicgroove/index.html

On cd, vinyl and itunes.

I'm not a fan of vinyl, but the double two coloured vinyls are cool:

During next ADE:

quote:
Liebrand is considered to be one of the pioneers in dance music and mixing.

On the back of our recent announcements about techno pioneers Robert Hood and Juan Atkins taking part in ADE’s daytime program, we are equally delighted to announce that Ben Liebrand, the legendary Dutch producer/remixer and studio wizard who has been so influential to so many current top DJ/producers, will be interviewed by one of the many people who was inspired by his work… Armin van Buuren.

Van Buuren says that he considers Liebrand to be the best DJ in the world. Praise indeed from one of the most grounded and easy-going DJs on the circuit, and someone who has topped the DJ Mag Hot 100 poll an amazing five times in his 16 year career. Liebrand, who now lives in Canada, has provided remixes for Grace Jones, Michael Jackson, TLC, Sting and countless others. His In The Mix radio show on Veronica has been cited as a major early influence by both van Buuren and Tiësto.

The duo will also be joined by Belgian DJ/Producer Lost Frequencies (a.k.a Felix de Laet), who shot to fame following his remix of Easton Corbin's Are You With Me, which has just reached pole position in the German charts. As much as van Buuren was influenced by the style and work of Liebrand, de Laet regularly cites van Buuren as one of his biggest musical influences.

It is not the first time that van Buuren 'Q&A's' with his favorite influencers. Last year he interviewed Jean Michel Jarre at ADE Pro.

Next to remixer Ben also is 3D visual artist. There is a guy, Cory Barkman who makes such creations real. Ben made a website for him and it just looks great, he also made 3 video with music for him:

1991 was a great year.

Just listen what we listened back then, it gets harder at the end like all Grandmixes. This mixing was the inspiration for many Dutch DJ's:

It's the time of the year Ben will spend a lot of time in his cave at his home in Canada for the Grandmix besides a visit at ADE in between.
Equipment freaks here will love his cave.
Check it out: http://liebrand.nl/studio/studio4.html

Most impressive though, is the wall in the back
Beside owning it, knowing how to use all that stuff it is another thing.

Ben made a mix of his last album, not that I like this type of music that much, but the visuals he made for the video are awesome.
Check it out full screen, funny detail @28:50

With the words Airwave posted on FB yesterday in my mind I would say many people should have a listen especially when they talk about the bashing part.

Going to catch this now. I just got back from AMS yesterday - attended some great events and met great people.
