The biggest trend of the decade, at least from what I've seen was the whole revival of mid 90's style house - MK having a comeback for instance, but also lots of big piano riffs. I'd have to think back of some of my favorites of the decade though. Loved the nu-disco sounds that were big in the early part, and now appreciating the rise in 'melodic house and techno' (to use the Beatport term) over the past few years.

Now the decade is finally over, I figured I should make a couple of lists. I'm sure this will date terribly, because there will be countless great albums from the last decade which I'll discover in years to come, but here they are in chronological order:

Albums:

Scuba - Triangulation (2010)
Geomatic - 64 Light Years Away (2010)
Cosmithex - Visions Of Sound (2011)
Almunia - New Moon (2011)
Paranoia106 - Landscape (2012)
Solar Fields - Random Friday (2012)
John Talabot - Fin (2012)
The Future Sound Of London - Environments 4 (2012)
DjRUM - Seven Lies (2013)
Minilogue - Blomma (2013)
Space Dimension Controller - Welcome To Mikrosector-50 (2013)
Yagya - Sleepygirls (2014)
Poppy Ackroyd - Feathers (2014)
Applescal - For (2015)
Acronym - June (2015)
Fort Romeau - Insides (2015)
Ryan Teague -Site Specific (2016)
Between Interval - Legacy (2017)
Mind Groove - The Sailor and the Mountain (2017)
Halftribe - For The Summer, Or Forever (2018)

(And this isn't remotely electronic and so doesn't belong on this list, but easily, easily the best album of the last ten years was Goat - World Music (2012))

And just for the hell of it, because I could make a thousand lists of different categories of tune, here are twenty dancefloor tunes from the last ten years that fill me with good memories and that I've enjoyed smashing out on the decks many times, in alphabetical order because I can't remember when they all came out:

Tunes:

Cid Inc - Shifter
Dave Seaman - Nightfalls (Lee Van Dowski Remix)
Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra - Too Much Information (Laolu Remix)
D-Nox & Victor Ruiz - Arise
Flowers & Sea Creatures Feat Wrong Jeremy - The Very Next Day (Adriatique Remix)
Isaac Tichauer - Higher Level (Bicep Remix)
Jobe - VII
Khen - Never Lose Your Innocence
Luke Brancaccio & Simon Berry Feat JJD - Close Your Eyes
Man Power - Kiloton (Hardway Brothers Remix)
Marvin & Guy - Superior Conjunction
Matthias Meyer - LA Strings
Monkey Safari - Walls (Guy Gerber's Office Sex Remix)
Masaya - Picture (Petar Dundov Remix)
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - AKA... What A Life! (Amorphous Androgynous Remix)
Pardon Moi - Power To The People (Damon Jee Remix)
Robert Babicz - Beautiful (Tom Middleton Liquatech Remix)
Sasha Feat Polica - Out Of Time
Steve Parry - 303V
Terranova Feat Stereo MCs - Tell Me Why (Danny Daze Remix)

This should probably nailed to the top of any discussion of the 2010s in dance music, to be fair.

I have pathetically fallen off following music really, but for me the biggest albums of the decade were probably

Oneohtrix Point Never:
Returnal
Replica
R + 7
Garden of Delete
Age Of

Charli XCX - Number 1 Angel / Pop 2 / Charli
Galcher Lustwerk - Information
Caroline Polachek - Pang
Barker - Utility
Stenny - Upsurge
Special Request - Offworld/Vortex
Objekt - Cocoon Crush / Flatland
Call Super - Suzi Ecto
SOPHIE - OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S UN-INSIDES
Holly Herndon - Platform / Proto / Movement
Tim Hecker - Virgins (not up to date on more recent shit but prob that too)

idk, bad memory in my old age, I could come up with more. Maybe I still do follow muzack.

There's a bunch of stuff in SYSTEM-J's list I'd also probably +1.

Some of my favorites from the decade, I'm restricting this to items I own, so I just went through my discogs collection to list them:

bvdub - A Step In The Dark
Desolate - Exceptionalism
Desolate - 10th Anniversary (Basically, all his stuff)
ASC - The Waves
Naono - Sleepy Pebbles
Willamette - Always in Postscript
Earth House Hold - When Love Lived
Yamaoka - Time To Time
Otto Totland - Pino
Brambles - Charcoal
Acronym - Mu
Luigi Tozzi - Deep Blue Volume 2
Skee Mask - Compro
Khotin - New Tab
Terekke - Improvisational Loops
Shorelights - Ancient Lights
Half Tribe - For The Summer, or Forever

I'm sure there is more, I don't generally add albums on discogs that I've only purchased digitally.

The last decade has been my introduction to electronic dance music; November marked 10 years since I attended my first rave and it piqued my interest. My list probably would be more interesting if I could include some older gems I’ve discovered, but I’ll stick to the topic. Here are some albums and tunes that come to mind that resonated with me when I first heard them and bring back fond memories for one reason or another.

Albums:

Francis Harris - Leland
Donato Dozzy - K
Moodymann - Moodymann
Kettenkarussell - Easy Listening
Voices From The Lake - Live At Maxxi
Acronym - June
Dwig - From Here To There
Dwig - What’s Paradise
Grant - Cranks
Dorisburg - Irrbloss
Omar S - The Best!
Delano Smith - Detroit Lost Tapes
Kettenkarussell - Insecurity Guard
Nthng - It Never Ends
DJ Healer - Nothing 2 Loose
Martyn - Voids
Albrecht La’Brooy - Tidal River
DJrum - Portrait With Firewood

Tunes:

Above & Beyond Pres. OceanLab - On A Good Day (Metropolis)
Pachanga Boys - Time
David August - Hamburg Is For Lovers
Matthew Dekay & Lee Burridge - Fur Die Liebe
Monkey Safari - Hi Life (Cheeky Bold Cover)
Joris Voorn - Incident (Miyagi)
Joy Orbison - Ellipsis
Kollektiv Turmstrasse - Ordinary (Lake People’s Circle Motive Remix)
Bob Moses - All I Want
Marcel Fengler - Jaz
Orson Wells- Leaving
Frank & Tony With DJ Sprinkles - Companion
Odd Parents - Learn To Fly (Maceo’s Flight Home Remix)
Timmo - Canvas
Hernan Cattaneo & Guy Mantzur - Imaginarium
Patrick Klein - Intermood (2014 Version)
Jullian Gomes - Love Song 28
Gorje Hewek & Izhevski - Heimat
Brian Cid - Aurora
Bicep - Celeste
Voices From The Lake - Max
Guy J - Nirvana
Ruede Hagelstein - Life Is A Beach
Cid Inc - Fragile Circle
Leo Pol - 2 La Deep De Bretagne
Mr. G - Transient
Janeret - Air
Hokuto Sato - Shore
Cornucopia - The Day You Got Older And Stronger
Traumprinz - 2 Bad (Metatron’s What If Madness Is Our Only Relief Mix)
Roy Of The Ravers - Emotinium
Alphonse - Glint AM (Dj Normal 4 VibemixxX)
Floorplan - Music
Conga Radio - Party Smokes
Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra - Too Much Information (Laolu Remix)
Baaz - The Reason
Sebo K - Brock Wild
Fantastic Man - Reality Change
Artefakt - The Radiant City
Derek Carr - East Is East
Brame & Hamo - Roy Keane
Mandar - String Theory
Quasar - I Never Thought I’d See The Day
Leafar Legov - Alone

I look forward to listening to most if not all the albums posted at some point. If there's one thing that I've strayed from in the last decade, it has been listening to albums regularly. I grew up doing that, and I've since turned to sets, compilations and EPs. I'm listening to sets a lot less these days -- almost never, really -- so that gives me time for the albums. Happy 2020 all

All good picks. According to Last.FM my two most listened to artists of 2019 were Otto Totland with 222 plays and Halftribe with 179. Now I'm turning into an old bastard I find it's that kind of ambient / minimal piano stuff I can play over and over again.

Yup, I've noticed that with myself over the past few years, ambient and non four on the floor kick patterns draw most of my attention for daily listening. Check the naono - sleepy pebbles, if you haven't heard it, really nice one, and it is free too along with some other tracks on his bandcamp:

https://naono.bandcamp.com/album/sleepy-pebbles

He also made a mix called Oceanic wonders. I've listened to it hundreds of times. I don't have the tracklist, but it mostly contains his own stuff, something from machinarium, yagya, desolate. It isn't online anymore but I uploaded it to wetransfer:

There's no longer any need to speculate which albums made the RA list, because here it is, full of shit you've never heard of and nobody cares about : https://www.residentadvisor.net/fea...71UA9vUGB0Pn45w

Arca - Arca was one of the most offensive things my ears listened to. It was similar to the feeling of having centipedes crawling all over you.

Sandwell District and voices from the lake aren’t bad though
