Despite being French and it took me a few minutes to realize that, I think Antigang was a nice average action movie. (3/5)

Everest: pretty good movie, shitty way to die. Watched "The Theory of Everything" last night. I think that guy did a good job portraying Hawking's mannerisms as result of his condition. From what I've read, the actual Hawking can be/is a bit more pretentious/assholish?

He's English and Old. Oh, and English too.

I have the book, which is actually an autobiography that was gifted to me. I enjoyed it, learned how the Nazis only bombed certain areas of the UK, and so did the allies?

Have you seen the death toll of the alias against the axis, it is so evident that we were dragged into another pit of death by the Establishment Gematria.

Armie Hammer is a friend of mine. - good bloke and fuck is he tall. It wasn't actually a bomb. It cost $75m to make and took over $100m. After marketing costs it probably broke even.

Though it didn't do great in the USA, they're hoping it gets picked up for a sequel as it did well in the foreign markets. It's sometimes a bit hit and miss with Guy Ritchie films but TMFU was actually very well done and it really came down to timing and not enough people in the demographic knowing the heritage. That bodes well for a sequel and the rumor is it will get one with a bigger budget.

It was good, certainly virtuoso on a technical level (although rather in love with its own virtuosity) and Tom Hardy stole it for me, but I'm not sure why it's a shoe-in for every Oscar going. There's not really a lot going on underneath all the blood and snow and Di Caprio doesn't really have to do much beyond being convincingly agonised for most of the film. And am I the only one getting bored of him being tortured by feverish dreams of his past in every goddamn flick?

It's purely because it's time to give Leo the oscar, He should have got it for What's Eating gilbert grape or even The Departed but it's all politics and while some of his performances have been good, there were usually stringer and less obvious competition that made for a better story of winning the statue.

It's like when Michael Douglas got the oscar for a Chorus Line. He said less than a dozen lines in the film and the rest is just sitting there watching people, virtually expressionless, but they gave him the oscar because it was a weak year, an Oscar friendly vehicle (feel good film about the ent industry) and had been a bit of travesty that he hadn't won it for any of his previous performances.

As one critic put it: The revenant is the tale of one man's desperate suffering to win an Oscar.

If I was him I'd just go on a vacation to Siberia and make a "thank you" video for if he wins. As a "oh ok thank you but .. really?".

Just watched 'The Land of the Rings' such an amazing trilogy- highly recommended.

Also for those with kids, I recommend the cartoon ' Dumpo the Mammoth '

I certainly hope so. That would be fabulous Amazon has the Blu-ray combo pack for 9.99 right now, so I just ordered it. Gotta do my part, yo.

I thought Armie did a great job but Alicia Vikander was really damn good. They clearly set it up for the franchise and there's some other good news that might mean the sequel happens....

Armie is Co-starring in Birth of Nation which just got premiered at Sundance.

It's been the runaway success of the film festival, and got so well received that a bidding war broke out over it.

It then broke the record for the most ever paid for an signed film at $17.5m - they're already saying it's a shoe in for next years Oscars, and the situation with this year's oscars will only help propel it further as it's a cracking film apparently.

So if that gets a boost there's more appetite for it's star's other vehicles and hence why the odds are getting better for a TMFU sequel.

You know, that film has zero appeal to me. I mean like if you gave me a ticket, I'd give it away. I just give zero fucks for a comic book story about a humorous superhero. An R-rated comic book just seems like an Oxymoron; a kids story with an adult rating.

(fuck you should have seen the shitstorm on Reddit when I posted that last sentence lol)

I think comic book movies need to take a hiatus of at least half a decade. Can you imagine the summer blockbuster season rolling around without even one SUPER HERO 3 movie being at theatres? How refreshing.

But who am I kidding, that will never happen. They're Hollywood's main cash cow.
