Stu, I have a big dilemma. I want to put my summer mix out, and have enough music in the pipeline to go nearly 2 hours I think, but the problem is that if I wait until the end of july, 3 or 4 more big tracks will be available. Do I wait for them and then maybe find the same position with more music or do I just do my mix soon & forget they exist (even if they are so good) |
"Big tracks?" That usually means 'popular tracks' in that context, and if that's what you had in mind. Fuck no. Who cares about popularity, especially in the context of a set?
If you mean big tracks as in huge peaks or something, still, fuck no. There's plenty of music out there right now, and at any other point in time to not have to wait for something that's about to come out.
It wouldn't make much sense to call them big tracks in the following context, but it's the only one for which waiting isn't a bad idea: The tracks in question fit seamlessly within the rest of your selection and play the exact role you want them to, without which the set doesn't do what you want it to do.

big as in what I've been waiting months to come out so I can get my grubby paws on. With me not being a DJ in the traditional sense, my sets are more a case of showcasing the music that means a lot to me, and helping others discover it.
