for a trance track you usually cant only stay in one chord, except for intro/outro. thats why you fail. it lacks melody.
you need a chord progression.
try A minor on bar1, C major on bar2, F major on bar 3, G major on bar4 and then back to A minor on bar5/1/repeat.
what i mean then is press the 3 dominant keys of each of these chords, the base note, the second (+3/+4, depending on minor/major), and the third (always +7 from your base note).
For example:
A minor is A, C, E
C major is C, E, G
F major is F, A, C
G major is G, H (or B), D (this is not in scale, but a transion/change making it special).
then put this progression into an arpegiotor synth that generates the melody for you based on the chords put it, vary up/down arp. apply and repeat.
