Ding ding we have a winner!!

It's basically a desktop version of their Supernova synth but with less polyphony (16 voices) but added vocoder.

I had a Supernova last year but had to sell it because of new baby reasons, but these things are sweet.

6 ouputs, 8 part multi timbral, independant fx per part, knobby interface and cheap (I paid 190).

This easily sounds as nice as an 8080 or Virus of the day, and it's built like a tank.

Would be cool to chill at some of these studios! I basically am a FL, laptop and headphones producer.

Raphie it just kind of dawned on me all your studio pictures look like a professional/potrait photographer takes them. I can see you having like a photo album of the studio.

"This picture is from when the studio turned 6... That's the last birthday party we allow cake in here, that's for sure."

I really don't agree with this. No way in hell I'd swap my microbrute for that junk.

I made a quick demo for you. It definitely won't be the best one out there. I've been so busy at work that unfortunately I haven't gotten familiar with it still. So I whipped up 3 quick sounds from scratch. This is a very quick, rough demo, but I wanted to upload something since I said I would. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do a clip for the paraphonic mode but I did make a clip for the "unison mono" mode with unison detune which gives a pretty big sound for an analog "mono" synth.

NOTE: a reverb was added to all the clips. but aside from the reverb - the sounds are 100% unprocessed, straight from the Pulse 2.
========================================
Clip 1 (0:00-0:16)
3 x oscillators (all saw waves, osc 2 & 3 were detuned for a little phasing)
monophonic
a little bit of VCA tube overdrive applied
12db lowpass filter, halfway through the sound i opened the filter up all the way
========================================
Clip 2 (0:24-0:0:56)
2 x oscillators (both square waves)
monophonic
the filter cutoff is somewhat low at first, then i open up the filter cutoff, then i decrease the PWM on osc 1
========================================
Clip 3 (1:04-1:53)
1 x oscillator (pulse wave)
unison mono with some unison detune and some pwm
i play around with the envelope filter amount, then decrease it to a low filter cutoff, then open up the filter cutoff

Hah, saw it on soundcloud before I saw it here hence my comments asking questions you already answered

Sounds very nice, it definitely has a different character than alot of other analog synths I have listened to demos of... more "modern" and less muddy than other mono analog synths... like it would fit in a mix easy with alot of current genres alongside digital synths.

Ive been considering picking up an analog hardware synth myself sometime but I really need to make sure I get one that goes with my sound like you were saying. The pulse looks quite badass and it does have a nice price point as well.

Thanks for the demo

yeah that's the same impression I got from it, it has the "lively" and rich analog sound but in a more modern way. it doesnt have a monstrous sound to it, like a moog. some call it colder or thinner than traditional analog synths but the tradeoff is that it'd sit well in a multilayered mix with digital synths like you mentioned but there's no denying that it retains a very analog sound. I think it's a synth that retro-music producers wouldn't like but it's probably aimed at those of us that mix and match hardware synths and vst's. as much as I absolutely love the powerful moog sound, the pulse 2 just seemed to fit the niche I was looking to fill.

Chalk and cheese tbh

I really don't get the 'if it ain't analogue it's shit' mentality.

The microbrute is fine, but I sold mine because in the finite space I have it doesn't do enough to warrant keeping. I paid almost exactly the same for the Nova as I sold the MB for and instead of a basic analogue mono synth I have a 16 voice, 6 ouput multi timbral VA with separate FX per part and all sorts of extra bells and whistles. It suits my setup better than the MB.

I will be adding an analog 4 next, which also suits me just fine!

Yeah good stuff Geoff, the multi timbral part is a must have. Just because its analog doesn't mean it has more character than a hardware digital synth. I learned this with all the gear I have and the Kawai K-5000 feels the most lushest and warmest. Plus with the k_station you get a nice blue screen and I bet you can save patches. I wonder if there is an editor out?
