Actually, a good share of sciences and philosophers alike would dismiss the whole idea of "a higher power out there" entirely.
Coming up with a natural world is already very unlikely and a problem that needs answering (well, maybe "need" is too strong a word). However, postulating a supernatural world above this natural world just makes everything ever worse. If you believe a higher power created/designed/inspired the natural world, then where did this power come from? We're just moving the answer forward.
