Depends which way you look at it.
There are only some Aussie djs that have 'made' it to become well known & have played around the world!

Id rather be djaying, having a residency at a club, making the crowd go nuts & being invited to dj support internationals, then say a dj who cant even try and score himself a gig.
I know its not all that easy but if you're good at what you do and have the talent for it, IF THERES A WILL THERES A WAY, YOU CAN MAKE IT, this is only if you're serious about djaying & WANT to play to a crowd (not 2 people) and also make some extra cash!
If we are talking globally, then yes I think producing is the way to go & networking yourself overseas.

lol i agree, i have some friends who just have decks to play at private functions or just for themselves for fun, whatever tickles your fancy....
