And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Awesome! I have a newly-found respect for the man. And honestly, I am a firm believer that there's no such thing as "negative publicity". I think that at least in US, with a single headbutt, Zizu did more to expose the sport than entire WC tourney. It shattered the entire conception that soccer is a "pansy" sport without contact.
Just like rednecks like to watch NASCAR in hopes of crash, I bet they will pay more attention to "soccer", in a hope to catch a glimpse of another fight.
But... Zidane does have a history of violence and being ejected for unsportsman-like behavior. Including jumping on players, head-butting in the pile, and obviously - the infamous incident of few days ago.
still, he's amazing. definitely worthy of "football hall of fame".

materazzi deserved it, he's scum who tries to cheat & kick & talk his way through things. Our entire bar cheered when it happened, sadly it didn't connect to his face. Ok, so it wasn't going to not be a red card, I'm not disputing it, but if it is proven as racist taunts, uefa/fifa should ban materazzi for 12 months. Only by imposing overly strict laws will people learn, there is no place for it in the modern game. Sadly this ass also assaulted Sorin in the champs league & got away with it. He's nothing but a thug who in any other place would get criminal charges for his behaviour.

Zidane makes apology for headbutt
Zinedine Zidane headbutts Marco Materazzi during the World Cup final
Zidane reacted to Materazzi's insult by headbutting the defender
Zinedine Zidane has apologised for the headbutt on Italy's Marco Materazzi which earned him a red card in Sunday's World Cup final penalty shoot-out loss.
But the France legend did not reveal what Materazzi said, only confirming that it was "very personal and concerned his mother and his sister".
In a French TV interview, Zidane, 34, said: "I want to ask for forgiveness from all the children who watched that.
"There was no excuse for it. I want to be open and honest about it."
Zidane was sent-off for the headbutt to Materazzi's chest in the second period of extra-time in Sunday's final in Berlin.
His words contradict Materazzi's take on the incident, in which the Italian admitted making an insulting remark to the midfielder, but denied he made reference to Zidane's mother.
Fifa is to investigate Zidane's sending off and the organisation's president Sepp Blatter has hinted that the France star could be stripped of his World Cup best player award.
