I'm kinda pissed off, but very happy at the same time.
So, as some of you folks that were on TA last night will know, my outside amp died (thanks Oscar!)
I looked around for a second hand amp that would fit the bill (second hand because this is something that will be left out on the deck permanently, and so could potentially get ripped off/damaged by the weather/whatever). Didn't find anything to my liking (had to be at least 2.1 to drive the sub).
So I said "fuck it" and grabbed the other amp we have inside. I'm out here all the time, and we hardly ever use the inside one anyway.
Man, my old amp must have been more fucked than I thought. As soon as I set this one up out here, my immediate reaction was "Holy shit, this sounds way better now!"
I'm happy that I have music again on the deck. But, for the last 2 years, what I thought sounded pretty good out on the deck, actually sounded pretty bad, without me realising.
