Ok, Mister Slychologist.
btw, it's embarrassed.
The point is, in the story, the adults did not appear to be embarrassed by the child's embarrassing actions. Embarrassment should cause nervous laughter if any at all, mortification, apology, or even some anger with the child. There was no mention of apology or any of this. The adults, typical of the parents of generation entitlement, simply laugh with the child, in a carefree, "oh those hilarious kids!" / "My kid can never do wrong" kind of way, without letting the child know that the behavior, while natural and acceptable, is ultimately reprehensible. Kids understand their behavior through their parents' reactions. Parents just don't know how to tell kids 'No' anymore, which is why they all grow up to be such fucking twats.
It's not OK to be rude, nor is it funny, except to people who enjoy belittlement and humiliation.
Ultimately it's a funny situation in theory, but it would be funny to me only if the adults expressed genuine embarrassment.. which provokes the feeling "OMG i know how embarrassing that can be". Instead, because their reaction was more "OMG the kid is right look at that weird looking person" / "LOL Kids say what we all want to say but can't", it's not funny at all, but cringeworthy, IMO.
