Hi and welcome to SWETA ! The Swedish part of TA

Well we have some organizers that arrange NYE parties and that also have weekly clubs...

Right now though there is only one real progg/trance club and it´s called Weekender and is held by FOKUSED ( www.fokused.net ) And the line-up for November now is really exiting !

I dunno yet what parties there will be for NYE but I´m sure there will be...

Also another organizer that arrange great parties from time to time is Monday Bar ( www.mondaybar.com )

There are some regular nightclubs that also play some trance but if you want pure quality I recomend you go for thoose two organizers...


I know that there are some smaller clubs like the one in Old Town ("Gamla Stan") but I guess someone who knows them better here can tell you more about them

Let us know what you will do and we might meet up with you... like last friday we were 14 proud SWETA members at Weekender with Misja Helsloot

Thanks for the info. Its appreciated. The girls I know that live there aren't really into trance, but I'm persuading them That said,they don't really know of any good clubs to go hear trance. They went to college here in Florida with me and got into it when I brought them with me as girls on my side at a club I was DJing at. (Swedish girls and I go together well!!!! ) They say trance was really popular in Sweden about 5-6 yrs ago, but not anymore. Is this true? One of the main reasons for my trip is to get a feel of how the scene is there. And thats mainly because myself and a couple other guys here in Florida are thinking about going international and opeing up a club in Stockholm and in Gotheburg (spellling?). We've been all over the world and feel like Sweden would be the place, despite it being such a small country. These days there are way too many laws being place in effect for us to start up here in the states. Sverige seems like it has a more layed back scene as far as the laws go on closing times for clubs/bars. In any case, thank you for the warm welcome on SWETA. People from Sweden, for the most part, seem nice.

Well 5-6 years ago was when it was most news about it when there were many parties at a place called Docklands and the papers writed about all the drugs ´n stuff... you know the usual bull.
The scen has really exploded this year with MANY great parties and great international DJs that never been here before...

I belive that it would be hard for you at the moment to start a new club cause there aren´t really that many clubbers that goes to tranceclubs on a regular basis, but we´re getting more each day.
Also I belive there might be some law trubbel here as well but I´m not the right guy to tell you about that... Come over and have a blast, hope it will work out for ya (as long as I get a VIPcard ha ha )

Also... come in summertime next time, you will really love Stockholm in summer, so much more alive and less amount of clothes on the Swedish ladies if you know what I meen

yeah it's true that most of the local clubs mostly play hiphop n stuff like that I've been out to theese clubs maybe 4-5 (I turned 18 just a couple mounths ago) times and only hear like 3 (maximum) trance or house tunes, and they are very crappy like scooter, you know
but I'm sure there will be some pretty good event to go to at NYE

anyway, it might sound corny, but I'm planning to fix up a outdoor rave in the summer, a guy I talked to at my moms work have done it before and he was intrested

Well there is a nightclub that have music for all kinda people, the have one floor for rock, one for R n´Shit and one for dance/trance music and many times they play really good trance only the mix and blend the tracklist like shit.. Place is called Patricia and is located on a boat with restaurant... 4 decks high. (maybe the easiest place to pick up girls)

Hehe... I think it's growing bigger than it ever was but that's hard for me to decide as i'm living in holland right now. By the time i move to Sweden I hope the scene is bigger than it is right now!
Sweden used to be a rock-country just like the States, and it still is. So it's pretty hard to set foot on trance territory

Hm. Unlike other Western-European countries Sweden is quite strict in regulations. In particular concering drug policies, alcohol and age levels. I would say that Holland, Belgium and Germany are more layed back than the Scandinavian countries alltough it is improving. The government in Sweden starts to realize that they can not withhold the teenagers from listening to the music they like and therefore they aren't raiding parties as actively as they used to.
I certainly hope they never will.

Wow, it sounds like you guys need a little bit of Florida trance over there. One of the things I'm going to try to do over there is make some good contacts with club promoters/owners. I'd love to be able to play over there. I've played in Lyons,France ( I don't like the french people too much )and in Essen, Germany ( I like the German people). My original goal was to play in Sverige, but up until 3 yrs ago I didn't know anyone from there... And the girls I met at my University, they had to stay here in Florida because they played tennis and basketball for the university. If some of you would like for me to send you a mix of some of the stuff I play here, let me know and I'll send a mix to you ( eventually). I have a residency here in Jacksonville, Florida. I would love to come blow a club up there in Sverige for one night, that would be awesome.



BTW- Believe me, I know what kind of bodies those swedish girls have...lol. They are the reason why I get aggravated by american girls so easily. The swedish girls are pretty straight forward and seem like they don't bull$hit. And the fact that most of them are blonde and usually hot. I have a few girls in mind I wouldn't mind taking to Lappland and having a crazy weekend with.

I must say that the Swedish crowd is really great and enthusiastic or as Marco V said after a 4 hour set in Sthlm just after 2 gigs the weekend before in USA/DC. USA/NY and I quote: The Swedish crowd is probably the best crowd in the world... that was what he told the organizer after...

Would be fun to hear a US.trance DJ play so please share your demo set with us !

I might be able to promote you on Liquidsunset.org and they will provide with serverspace for the demo...

Holland? hahahaha...lol. I don't even think of Holland when I think of a country. But there are some hot girls I've met here in Florida from there. Remember, the state I'm from has about 13 million people in it. And its just a state, not a country..lol

I do want to comment on your growing scene there in the Scandinavian countries....You guys just keep going in a forward direction. I can remember when trance music was almost non-existant here in Florida. I went to the Uniiversity of Florida, in Gainesville Florida. Gainesville has the longest standing Electronic Dance club still running in the entire United States. It is called SIMONS, it has been running for 13 yrs. Last night was the 13th Anniversary party. It rocked. I had a weekly night on thursday nights there in 1999/2000. You can check out the club at www.simonsclub.org/com


BTW-Steve, have you seen the American TV show Joe Millionaire? There are two girls from Sverige on it. Their names are Olinda and Lina. Both are pretty hot to me.
