MP3s: telling apart 128 kbps and 320 kbps (Part Deux)
In the other "telling apart MP3s" thread, people complained that there was only one sample, and one from a non-EDM genre at that. So I decided to create a better test, featuring ten different tracks from various genres, including some EDM.
I've made ten files; each file plays two copies of a single excerpt from a track. The only difference between the two copies is that one comes from a lower quality file (128 kbps) and one is higher quality (320 kbps). Your task is to indicate which copy is the lower quality one, writing "A" if you think the first one is lower quality or "B" if you think the second one is. Here are the files:
1. BT - "See You On The Other Side"
2. Miles Davis - "Blue in Green"
3. Debussy - "La Mer" (first movement)
4. Massive Attack - "Angel"
5. Massive Attack - "Teardrop"
6. Orbital - "Transient"
7. Underworld - "Push Upstairs"
8. Radiohead - "How to Disappear Completely"
9. Trentemoller - "Always Something Better (Trentemoller Remix)"
10. Zen-Kei - "The Punisher"
Let me know if you have trouble downloading the files.
Answers to be given later.

Odd, the samples wont play in Media Player for me but will play in Goldwave. Probably my PC tho.
FWIW dont open them in audio editors as you can clearly tell which one is the higher quality by looking at the waveform. (Higher quality has a slightly louder-looking waveform due to stuff that gets removed)

Windows Media Player?
That's what I used to test them.

Also, for a truly "blind" study, perhaps you'd be willing to accept PMs with answers for a few days and then score them? Rather than have everyone post them.
Unless this is just meant to be a test for the individual to discern whether or not they were able to tell, not for us to see stats.
