[Prog] David Michael - Through The Looking Glass [192kbps FULL]

Real heavy on the bassline this time. Slowed it down a bit from my typical trance tempos.

Would love some feedback on this one...

hey mate, this is really different.. i like it!
the bassline sounds like a very heavy synthesized voice.. i like the break at around 2:00 especially when the bass comes back in.. maybe try and add some effects on the main synths to give it that extra touch.

anyway good job.

Bidor.

Thanks for the tip, and glad you liked it! I'll be sure to check out the track in your sig.

Pretty good track there. All the sounds are well done, mixed well... me likey! Same sorta stuff I tend to produce. Always enjoy stuff with a nice groove to it. Not really any complaints, maybeeee a variance on the bassline in a couple spots would keep it a little more fresh, but thats just nit-picking. Keep it up

Yeah I kinda thought that too now that I look back on it... some variances on the bassline would have helped.

Thanks!!

you weren't kidding about the bass. i like this alot. I agree that a little variation would go a long way. The only prb i have w/it would be those little build ups (the first is @ around a minute), they kind of interupt the flow. good job tho
Andy

Thanks Andy! Appreciate the comments. I thought the little build ups would add some variety. Didn't mean to interrupt your groove.

Alright David - Sorry it too me so long to get to you on this, but here are my thoughts.

- The bassline is SICK - Love it, really drives the tune.

- The high melodic element is really nice, I wasn't sure I was going to like it when you dropped out the bass on the initial build, but when the kick came back in with the high melody and bassline together I was lovin' it.

- I WOULD have burned this to a disc to play out live if not for one, small thing: The high percs. There are a lot of times in this tune where it sounded like instead of using a fill, you just through a 3/4 echo or something on the high hats. I didn't like it at all, made the tune sound like it was off tempo.

- Other than that, the only thing I'd suggest is finding a little something to spice up the intro a bit - But honestly, it's a really, really great start m8!

Keep me posted on this bro - And all your productions!

Thanks Rob, I really appreciate the in-depth review.

Yeah, the "fill" was a heavy delay effect. Sorry you didn't like it, I will keep that in mind next time... lol.

The bassline seems to be a hit though!

Hmm... I'll get it back up this evening... appears I don't have a copy of this on my laptop and I'm not at home currently.

Alternatively, you could give it a listen on my MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/dmichaelmusic
