Question Fuser - Memory Fields --> Needs your feedback!

Hey there!

I have produced this piece a while ago but still not finished (you will see that!). I am open for any suggestions and comments so I will know whether I am on the right track. Thanks!

Track: Fuser - Memory Fields (Original Mix)

Link: Click Here

NB: The m3u contains the link to the actual file, but since is for review only i thought that a simple stream through Winamp would be better.

Hey,
Listening .... The drum buildup is pretty cool , kinda Tribal/Progressive to me, but lacks of some ambient instruments imo, like a choir melody, a piano with lots of reverb, a female sample, etc stuff like that but as I said that's just my opinion.
I liked those pads you used, sounds very new age.
In overall, is an excellent Track, but lacks of some instruments, above all a piano giving a nice main melody to all those great sounds you got there imo .
Kopi =o.

Good song man. I know you said it was a work in progress but I have to say it anyway. It does need some work :P. Not a lot but some. Being a progressive track, its is a rather good structure. Interesting flow with the bassline but its forced to try to overcome the thickness of the kick and the 1500Hz band. The 1500Hz band is up just a bit too high, easily fixed though . Maybe add some compression to the drums and to the entire track maybe and it will be tip top. One last suggestion though, if you could get a girl to sing some notes, not lyrics but notes, after the breakdown, that would increase the quality of the song 10x.

Cheers,
Zac

I am currently working on a better version with an improved melody, but the structure im thinking of keeping the same. I prefer the progressiveness of the track as it is. I tried cutting it short in the part before the break (halfing the phrases) but I felt that something was missing. Also the same goes for the breakdown. I see it more like a track that will take you away instead of jumping right at the main stuff...im too bored of that anyway - so many other producers do that nowadays too...

anyway thanks of the feedback, i hope one day i will find some time to export the channels and make a proper mixdown for you to listen the new version of the track...

hey Paris,

youg got a nice track here, mate, but as i already told you on msn you should fix the drum + perc clash, make the bassline more prominent, the track needs better eqing/mastering too, other than that, its quite nice tribal / progressive stuff, nice melody,

looking forward to the final result, mate

keep 'em coming,

cheers,

Peter
