Dave King - British House Foundation [Late 90s House/Prog/Trance]

About a month ago I was walking through Streatham on my way to get a kettle when I passed the British Heart Foundation music shop. Having a bit of spare time I decided to pop in and have a little browse through the second hand vinyl bin, having trouble stopping myself with these kind of things. Generally you find the odd gem buried amongst the Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand but this place was different, an absolute treasure trove of house, progressive and trance from around 95-00, all going for between 50p and a pound each. I spent the next hour or so rooting through, trying to make sure that I didn't end up encumbering myself and being unable to get home, although in the end I did have to call a freind to meet me with a record bag to get the 50 or so records home.

What became quite clear to me whilst I was looking through all these records was that it was mostly from a single collection. As a fierce defnder of my own pile of wax it saddened me somewhat that someone had to give up quite a pile of excelent records. Something that must have taken a lot of time, money and love to build up. What was even sadder was that a lot of them were covered in dust a grime, probably having been sat in a garage or loft for a number of years forgotten about.

So, I thought a fitting tribute would be to record a mix using as many as I could and share it with the world so here it is, hope you enjoy!! Its not all strictly house music, theres quite a bit of trance at the end, but I thought the name fitted rather well

Oh and if you were wondering, I got my kettle

On a not so unrelated note, past few mixes people have mentioned ome not great sound quality. I have been trying to find the source of this and I think I fixed it. Turns out soundforge was, whilst recording 2 channels, recording two copies of the left channel. So now for the first time ever, this DK mix is brought to you in glorious stereo!

I'm torn. I really want to listen to this straight away in the sunshine this afternoon, but I also think it'll be the perfect train journey soundtrack to Liverpool on Saturday for the Cream Reunion.

yes save it for saturday man, I was going to say in my original post that my forensic vinyl digging sense told me that the person who owned these records was very probably a big fan of Cream
