the first 10 tracks or so tend to drag on, so the intro isn't as crisp as it could be. and, sometimes, there is an annoying vibrato in the low-end -- really evident in Gigi Masin's Clouds (flippin' excellent producer btw, ever heard "Call Me"?).
the mixing is creative and well-placed all over, but the move from 46-51 is ridiculaaaahs.
and about track 22 - you composed this? very russian style of melody man, a lot like Eduard Artemiev. (please send it to me) |
Ja, to answer your question from the other mix (haha), the low-end vibrato is a result of the compressor setting that I put on the raw recording.
Funny enough, I also noticed that it brought out a few flaws (volume/hi-hat dips, and even a few beat-matching oopsiedasies. Hahahah. (I desperately want that Radio 1 sound, though I know people around here look down upon that sort of thing.) I think the effect worked better for the last compilation.
Anyway, I haven't had time to focus on my music stuff because of school, which is over in about a week from to-day, finals and everything. Recently, I made a number of adjustments with the compressor and I significantly lowered the volume. It sounds much better now. Oh, and I also split it in two archives, instead of three.
Would like to see what others think. In any event, thanks for the feedback! Sorry I got it so long after the fact!
Oh, and right: I'll PM you a link to track number twenty-two to-morrow.
