I like that you started it out with some glitchy in your face electro stuff. Nice transition to track two, nice funky baseline to fill out the sound after the stripped down Pryda track. Track two has some synth strings in it that almost reminds me of funky house, nice rich sound. The break down in the track is smooth. The transition into track three was a little abrupt, maybe it could have used some highs killed. Jaytech is a great song though, love that drum kick on the twos and fours. Nice track selection with Flesh, it really kind of hung there and and made the set aesthetically pleasing after the clubby sounds of Rakfunk: a nice break that I think could work well on the dance floor to let people gather their breath. The more I listen to Invo2ver and the Bonus CD the more I like it. Nice baseline in track 6 I can tell you've been influenced by progressive, and a nice scattering of vocals to create an atmospheric feel. The euphoric peak in track 6 is just right, not overblown. One Dress, Two Legs is quite nice too, the second half of it is very hypnotic without being boring. Track 8 is danceable and hypnotic, lets the audience know that some big sounds are coming up later; lets them build the energy up a bit. Nice choice. Battle Scars is a great track too, love the random arpeggios and occasional high pitch phaser sounds, sounds like an electronic bird call or something. Cool. Nice coursing conclusion with the Pryda track.
The set tricked me, at track seven I could have sworn it was going to head towards massive club bangers, but instead it waxed poetic and artistic for an atmospheric close. Nicely done. |
