Does anybody know where one would find good, high-quality, professional-sounding samples on the net? I've looked around a bit and found a few here and there, but there's a lot of crap out there. Maybe if we could start putting together a big list of good links, that would help out a lot of people.
Here's a couple sites I've found that have some good stuff on them:
Samples4u Net: Lots of content, sorted by genre, CD-quality samples.

woah, a good idea, thanks..
the only one I have to add, a shitty one at that which you have to scam to get their samples b/c they charge you (using total recorder its no prob) is:
lots and lots of acapellas... if u want any of them u have to mail the guy asking for what specific acapella u want, or else u just get an "blablabla" mail
Samplez.de : It's in German, but it's still easy enough to navigate their samples if you don't know German.
Looperman : Good samples, but they're all in zip files, which makes them a little more of a hassle to deal with.

http://listen.to/soundstate this site offers nice samples from variety of synth. All samples are in 44KHz 16 bit .wav format. Samples are zipped. Each zip contains about 4 samples. http://hem2.passagen.se/lej97/kalava/ This site is dedicated to percussions, all of them are in 44KHz 16 bit .wav format.

repost due to crash..
www.analoguesamples.com has a serious amount of Analog style samples about a gig worth of them all together. One minor drawback is the fact that u have to sign up. But its free and painless.

check out http://www.oneshotsamples.com . At first, it seems like a hassle because you have to upload 5 samples before you can download anything, but when you think about it, it's a cool idea. Everyone has at least five samples lying around, and the site has a lot of quality samples with new ones constantly being added.
