Sunday, May 27th 7 am - 7 pm SHIT SHOW 3 Waterfalls Ultra Lounge 673 Franklin Street Detroit Lineup TBA GET READY FOR THE FUCKING DEATH BLOW. Details forthcoming. Tickets will go on sale soon @ gshcusa.org |
I went ahead and booked a room at Motor City Casino. Someone told me to get my room from Fridy-Tuesday so I took her advice and did just that. It seems to be in a pretty decent location but not the best.. 2 miles to Movement and about 1 mile to most after-hours. My friend and I are flying out of Orlando to come party with ya'll and we can't wait.

I gotta go to that DirtyBird party but I did take your advice(s) and am holding off to get a ticket to James Z... Going to see what else is out there. I've opened for James before in Florida and have seen him play plenty... I just have it in my head that every DJ playing during DEMF is going to bring extra special heat fire big bombs on the decks because they're playing detroit lol.
I hope to see some old faces and meet some new ones up there! What day or party is sure to have a bunch of TAddicts at it?
Do these after parties go well into the following day or are they made to close around sunrise or some predetermined time like that?? I thought they went on for as long as they wanted to. @ WMC everything in SouthBeach closes around 6am but downtown stays open into the afternoon/evening the following day (And they can serve alcohol 24/7).. Please don't tell me these afterhour parties are going to stop the music and kick everybody out at a certain time in the morning... I guess if they do it is what is and everybody goes to house/hotel parties?? Let me know what the scoop is!
Josh Im staying at Motor City Casino as well....pretty much all we could find when we booked...I heard a Few things a) its a little Distance from the festival and i guess Cabs will be like 30-40 bucks B) Heard the neighborhood around Casino isnt that great sooo walking to festival prob isnt that great an idea but im sure my group will make Best of it.

did you guys try the Book Cadillac?
i had friends who just booked a few days ago at $140 a nite...
i concur, cabs aren't expensive; surprisingly, they're cheap. and a 3mi walk to-from the festival wouldn't be such a smart idea- esp at night when the city becomes deserted. the day isn't so bad, i'd prob walk it but even during the day it's deserted and makes it kinda creepy..remember walking to a cvs from the hotel, and it felt like i was in the game Silent Hill.

Greektown is super busy all the time.
lol tru. I should of mentioned Greektown is, perhaps, the only exception since its where the best food is at.

Can't be that bad catching a cab especially if you're splitting it with friends etc... Hit me up on face book (Josh Wickham) maybe we'll get together back at the hotel for some pre-and or-after partying.
If anyone needs a ticket still, im selling mine for face value, 52 bucks
Hey guyse I know you all missed me!

Nice to see the demf thread poppin but it ain't demf without da pop
With some NY promoters not doing a Friday pre demf party, it seems like a good year to get there early. Expect two major major parties happening the night before. Also, seeing the afterparties with djs that hit NY on the regular, meh hold out for something different.
Most interesting demf afterparty announced, the bi annual Soul Skate with Moodyman hosting. If you know demf, you know this party is insane. The vid shows their regulars throughout the year
You also might want to hold off for Shxt Show tickets, the boys broke up and the one who did the bookings is going on his own, expect the better lineup
Staying at that casino is a little far. Dollar cost averaging you are better off at a closer one. There are still deals out there for rooms
Also about food- Greektown has terrible food. There is a Five Guys between Greektown and Hilton. Slows is where the after the afters afters is on Tuesday and they are used to luggage
oh, gawd
some good insight has been given tho, and i will give credit. that moodyman party does look interesting, very interesting, in fact. I'm thinking about hitting that up. also, the casino is a quite a distance and for what you'll be dishing out for cabs daily to/from the festival and afters would be equivalent to staying somewhere a lot closer, nicer and more comfy.
now, to say that greektown food is terrible..i disagree. i must state, i only ate there once (you can say that's not enough to argue its the best)..however, it was by far the most enjoyable meal i had while there. not to mention, there are a lot of places to choose from as well. btw..how you going to say greektown is terrible and than suggest five guys? srsly lol I'm not hating on five guys bc yes its good but certainly not any better than the servings at greektown. but hey, to each their own..some ppl prefer a greasy burger w/ fries.
