time and place for everything

On another note- has anyone else noticed more lyrics in techno sets, breakbeat-hip hop type stuff...I've been hearing it more and more. I personally find it annoying, Dubfire is my main cat- but this is an example...http://www.be-at.tv/#/brands/lovela...d-2011/dubfire/

besides b@tv and dancetrippin- any other good sites for live tech sets?

One of the most interesting things I've heard of going on that weekend is the anti-Electric Zoo all the underground local boys are playing. Send me a PM if interested and I'll let you know as soon as I have details

I got a chance to chat for like 12 hours with one of these guys, who is a good friend and I had come down to DC with me last weekend. Some of these guys are doing some of the most ridiculous music I've heard in NY in a while. For those of you not going to EZ, I highly recommend checking the local boys out Or any other weekend for that matter. Send me a PM if you're interested in checking them out at any time, they always have something hot going on.

Probably not the exact sound you're looking for, but Good Units on Sunday night will be the highlight of the weekend with Squillance, Tanzmann & Buttrich. Sounds like they're gonna be doing solo sets and B2B2B like they did at EZoo.

So this weekend supposedly there will be a crazy ass Hurricane starting Saturday night (Hurricane Irene). Is this going to hamper anyones plans (at least for those who were planning on it) to go see Audio Injection at the Underground.

When I saw Paul Ritch it was raining cats and dogs- mind you it was not a hurricane, but I was so glad I went out since he killed it that night. Just seeing how many people here are still planning on rolling.

LOL. You just reminded me of my first winter living in NY. I actually lived in Jersey at the time and there was a HUGE snowstorm on a Saturday night. I took the hike to the Path (normally a 15 min walk) through 1 ft of snow just because there was NO WAY I was going to stay home on a Saturday. Went to Happy Valley for afterhours and then got snowed in for 2 days at a friend's apt (both kinds). Best afterhours ever. 2 ft of snow, I think it was Feb 2006.

Want to go but it's starting to look as if it will be bit difficult to get there and back.

Posted by TaurusNYY on Aug-27-2011 16:23:

Looks like its gonna be a pain ESP.downtown tonight , anyword on if they are going to cancel it. This sucks was soo looking forward to this.

Posted by lounger540 on Aug-27-2011 16:51:

Fuck this nonsense. I'm a block from the east river and would rather not spend the next couple of days in the dark. I'm heading upstate. Partied hard enough @ blkmarket. Good luck guys.

i wrote to them and they said the party is still going.

Posted by Chaska on Aug-27-2011 21:53:

Fuck that shit, I'm staying in DC until Monday. There will always be another party in NY. Please be safe guys!

I wonder if the Underground will be ok. I think it's in Zone A as well. That basement is going to get flooded.

Posted by edubbz on Aug-27-2011 22:47:

yeaaa, i take back what i prev said bc as badly as i want to go to this, its prob the smartest thing to just stay home! even if nothing ends up happening, you just never know and, quite frankly, you just dont mess with mother nature bc there is no winning in that.

so, hopefully, they can post-pone the event! be safe everyone.

They moved it to Sun night, but honestly what's the chance they'll even have power. I think they're being a bit ambitious.

are you serious? how stupid is that!! the aftermath of any disaster could only be worse and they expect ppl to troop it out there as if they dont have other important things to worry about? pffft!!

Posted by TaurusNYY on Aug-28-2011 02:08:

I could not even imagine trooping it out tonight would have been crazy- and yes waiting just one night and then throwing the party is pretty pointless, but I guess they are just trying to make theirs.

Laying low in the crib with all the goodies and good techno. Finally gonna mess with this virtual dj pro tonight.
