Cool, Frank! Looking forward to hearing you play, as well..also, hopefully get the chance to meet Sleepy & Boo.
Dammit. Just realised Monoloc/Sanhaji is the same as Octave!
As much as I love my CLR I think I'll be skipping this, I'm really looking forward to Octave (who I haven't seen before) and there's going to be a CLR showcase in Detroit a month later @ DEMF.

Venue and date hasn't been announced so we will see soon :-) He's one of my favorite producers and all his releases have been flawless. I'm definite looking forward to it! |

In for Babicz and Gerber
— Review (haven't done one of these in a while)
* RRose was a mindfuck. Better than the podcast he has going around that I posted last week. He dropped Waterfall about ⅓ of the way in. Being that he started so early (midnight) I was only a beer or two in and I've never danced like an asshole with my eyes closed like that before that sober. In your head shit. I was wondering how he was going to deal the the anonymous nature of his character, he came out wearing a black long sleeve and a kind of ninja hood just opening at his eyes. I think he was wearing color contacts or he has pretty bright blueish eyes. He did go on a little late though and I'm not sure if he did the full hour, which is too short IMO.
* Silent Servant was meh. He opened before RRose and I caught the end. Boring shit, but it was before 12 so I guess whatever. Some bad tracks though I would never think a prestigious Sandwell District artist would even have in their collect. His later set was only ok. His CLR podcast last week was way better. The first ⅓ was just boring and repetitive, i.e.; not Sandwell District and not like RRose who had all sorts of interesting elements all the time. He played some of his hits but had meh tracks in between, it was bit of a roller coaster.
* Function. Killed it, he had us dancing full swing. A little heavier than RRose but still that great bleep, bloop, vintage synth techno elements going on a lot. Wonderful set really. Encore was great, played some great Sven Vath style techno with some trance elements. Had my hands way up, and then he closed with Jaguar layered with some techno flavor, it was pretty epic. Whole place was on fire
* Venue [Bunker / Public Assembly]- I think this is the 6th time or so I've been there. Off the bat, bathrooms suck but whatever. Would it kill then to have a mirror, gotta stay fresh to death yo. The door is a breeze though and the beer selection is good. Some decent draughts for $6, pbr can $3, bud bottles $5, can't ask for much better. Bar tenders are pretty quick too. Coat check is well done and has lots of space, only $3.
The acoustics kind of suck though and are my only negative really, other than the shitty bathrooms. All that bass is just trapped. RRose had some complex melodies but it was hard to make out the details. The AC that runs along the whole ceiling has no sound dampening and sings quite a bit on the right notes. So does the stage, it's a big diaphragm on certain notes. They have a decent set of speakers and amps, it looks like, but it's not crisp, too many echoes and vibrations. Lots of dead spots from standing waves. I'm kind of an audio snob now but really, acoustic improvements are cheap and easy. It did get quite a bit crowded but I think that was mostly because people were way more interesting the back from than the front.
Taurus where the fuck were you? I was running solo for the first hour because Chaska and xpand3r thought they had better shit to do than see RRose, losers.
Lounger, guess whos up in the mountains and went snowboarding at Whiteface? The conditions were amazing yesterday. The mountain/trails are sweet as well
ARG! I went to creek the last couple of weekends (hence me not partying as much). So shitty. It's not so much the lack of snow, it's the lack of park effort. They just gave up. Though could have more rails or maintain the current ones but they just don't. I was better two years ago on jibs then I am at the end of this season just because I couldn't get in proper sessions. :/
I still have Hunter passes to use though so before WMC I'm heading up, probably a Friday/Saturday ordeal.
