Viva Toronto 2008 - Steve Lawler (YouTube & HD Video)

Here is what I recorded from Skybar during Steve Lawler's set. I kept the part where the audio from the decks cut out to show that things can go wrong. :)

I'll upload the HD version as long as it fits on the HD server this weekend and re-post that version.

From a video point of view, I think that there wasn't a whole lot to catch as I believe ppl were run down from partying all night long. As for Lawler, personally I felt the tunes could have been better. I'm not sure if I missed some good stuff after I left at 8am. I found his set at that point was too flat and not bouncy enough to keep a listener excited. This is just my opinion of course, but he really didn't do it for me. His set inside was far better.

one thing I noticed.... where are all the ladies??? on the stage area there were a few but besides that it seemed like the crowd was 85% male!

for the first couple of hrs i was just waiting for a change, which never happend until Dubfire came on and they started dropping some bombs , Lawler was Wayy better last yrss...

I was getting too run down, but I wish I stayed for Dubfire. I was surprised how much ppl there was when I left. Like I said before, ppl looked like they were running on low batteries, but if the tunes picked up, I guess so did they. Maybe I was a lost cause regardless.

I want to end up behind the DJ at least once so that I can get video of the DJ up close as well as the crowd. Now mind you I don't want to be anyone's bike to get there... LOL!

i agree that lawler's set was alil too slow n not interestin enough to keep the crowd jumpin. thats why i went inside to listen to mark oliver (i think) play at the main room.. But I was around where you were filming durin a bit of that lawler set hah.

I was thinking the same thing about Lawler during his set (probably tired). The camera I use is a Sony SR12 120GB HD+HDD Camcorder

just checked it out on futureshop, not cheap, but sweet
