2011 was an incredible year for festivals and electronic music. With the New Year rapidly approaching, all eyes are focused on what’s to come next with the leader being ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL (ULTRA), the world’s premiere electronic music event. Tickets are moving at lightning speed, only a limited amount remain (with early bird and advance on-sale tickets selling out in record time), so the promoters are highly encouraging fans not to miss out by unveiling the majority of the ULTRA line up on the Phase 1 announcement.
ULTRA is also returning to downtown Miami with Bayfront Park as it’s new location in order to accommodate a larger footprint for increased capacity. Over the last few years, the festival took place at Bicentennial Park but after reaching record-breaking 150,000 in attendance this year, and becoming the first ever, and only 3-day music festival of its kind to completely sell out 150,000 tickets six weeks in advance, ULTRA is moving next door to the tropical, waterfront park nestled between Biscayne Bay and Biscayne Boulevard. The ULTRA team is taking it back to Bayfront, where it last took place in 2005, transforming and customizing the park in a way never seen before.
Each day will be helmed by world-class headliners: TIËSTO and KRAFTWERK Friday, March 23, JUSTICE (live) and AVICII Saturday, March 24 and DAVID GUETTA and ARMIN VAN BUUREN Sunday, March 25. Other confirmed talent, in every genre of electronic music imaginable, includes a wide array of international leading electronic music performers including SKRILLEX, KASKADE, AFROJACK, PRETTY LIGHTS, DUCK SAUCE, BLOODY BEETROOTS (DJ SET), 2MANYDJS (LIVE), BASSNECTAR, CHASE & STATUS (LIVE), FEDDE LE GRAND, KNIFE PARTY and LAIDBACK LUKE, pioneering acts such as NEW ORDER, FATBOY SLIM, and SVEN VATH, cutting-edge bands like M83., MIIKE SNOW, LITTLE DRAGON, NEON INDIAN and METRONOMY and up-and-coming DJs such as SETH TROXLER and JAMIE JONES.
Confirmed talent for each day of ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL is:

Originally posted by Dream Beamz money talks, the last two years it has been this way. anyhow, one thing is for sure. if they are saying its almost sold out. Its probably very true. Last year when they said it, tickets were gone in two days. It doesnt hurt to buy your ticket now and sell it if you decide not to go. |

ultra sucks!
For those who haven't partied outside of the USA, you're better off saving your money and traveling to Europe for some real parties LOL it's time people step out of this Ultra Bubble
^ I really want to go to Time Warp! But first i need to get a job...
I'm so glad to be done with Ultra. Last and final time was 2008...
While I like to sh*t on Ultra as much as anybody else for its execution, crowds, and such...... I still hold the opinion that if somebody has never been before and is contemplating it, then it is well worth checking out at least once. I am actually somewhat impressed with the initial lineup release this year. I think it would be quite the experience to see Kraftwork live. Add to that New Order, Vath, Fatboy, etc..... and you've got a good mix of legendary names this time around. Not to mention, the Carl Cox tent is an experience in itself and I've always thought the best reason to attend.
Now with all that said, I will not be purchasing a ticket unless Daft Punk gets announced on Phase 2. Since I don't see that happening, I feel hundreds of dollars will be much better spent elsewhere on those days. I've got my fingers crossed that the setup is the same as last year so we can catch Kraftwork on the main stage from our condo.
People love to hate on Ultra but you can't tell me it's not a great time. And the lineup this year is looking real good...all the Circo Loco guys, Sven Vath, Kraftwerk...can't wait. Yeah it's expensive and no I'm not a fan of the all ages policy, but it's an incredible time anyways.

I don't think this lineup is diverse at all. Funny how it goes.
It sucks because last year I said the only way I would ever go again is if New Order reformed and played. doh! As it is now do I want to pay $350 for New Order, Kraftwerk and M83? I love Justice but their new album is getting slammed, meaning they will revert to festival hits and i've already done that. but again... for New Order and Kraftwerk to be playing in the US...
Depending on how it shakes out, I would be more than happy to sell off my Sunday pass. We'd have to meet up sometime Sat night/Sun morning obviously but i'd be down with that. Just a heads up

Okay I have never been to Ultra, last year I was on an artist guest list for 2 days and went 0 times (and I was staying in Miami not SoBe). Partly because I was wasted out of my mind from other parties.
Too me its just like any other massive, am I wrong for not wanting to go?
I have been going to massives for the past 15 years here in Ca, the appeal of Ultra just doesn't make it worth it to me.
Am I jadded? I know I can't be the only one. Because the reality is, you can see who ever you want on the line up at a smaller better party during that week (for the most part). So I usually opt for that.
