Coco Avant Chanel
i thought this was pretty good, it's in french though
Ahhh, I see what you mean. And yeah, it had a certain amount of kitsch to it, but so did the original stories and many of his cinematic incarnations since - I thought it was a great nod to a variety of Holmes interpretations over the last century. Downey Jr's accent may have been off, but the fact that both him and the actual character were both coke fiends was a terrific casting call, whatever the level of intention behind it.
I wonder who will play a competent Moriarty should they continue...

yeah man... I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually enjoyed it. I just hope the sequal doesn't fuck it up like Batman & Robin did to that franchise.
not a movie, but a tv show, yet it should be counted as a movie (2 seasons).
"Twin Peaks". watching a couple of episodes, and wow. what a tv show. i would love to see what is inside david lynch's mind.
^^ Probably my favorite TV show of all time. Paved the way for Lost for sure.

The Gold Box set is the way to go for Peaks. It has every episode over 10 discs, including the proper pilot, which was held back for a long time.
Bob is the scariest character I've ever seen on the small screen.

Twin Peaks has by far the greatest characters from all TV shows. Other shows usually have 1 or 2 side characters that are somewhat different, weird and just not your normal nice guy protagonist. Twin Peaks is full of them, and everyone is awesome.
I jizzed a little bit in my pants every time I read that Miguel Ferrer appears in an episode, cause Albert Rosenfield was just gold. Then there's the log lady, Lynch himself as Gordon Cole, Andy, that awesome old waiter who finds Cooper after he's shot... and really just everyone. Sigh, they don't do em like that anymore.

unfortunately for me, when twin peaks was on tv, i was 10/11, and didn't appreciate the type of art david lynch loves to emphasize in his shows and movies.
but cool story. good to hear hollywood actually gave you a call back.
not a single 10-20 minutes of a film has blown my mind like space odyssey, srsly
the whole beginning of civilization thing they do is just so phenomenal, creative and open minded, it's ridiculous. i watched it stoned the first time and never once watched it sober again

David Lynch - Rabbits

ok am going to watch the other parts when i get the chance. see where are movies like this?
imagine watching this short movie on the big screen. most likely 50% of the audience would leave halfway through the movie, because they would think it's boring, 20% would fall asleep, 25% would run out during the credits not really grasping the concept of the film, and 5% of the audience would sit throughout the whole credits just to watch in awe what type of movie it is.

Anyone watch Scorsese's Shitty Island??
Honestly, wtf. Why so terrible?
trying to watch more David Lynch movies has been something on my movie list for awhile. Unfortunately, the only wide release film i've seen of his is "Mulhullond Drive", and i thought that movie was fantastic. Some people have recommended to me 'Eraserhead', 'The Elephant Man', 'Blue Velvet', and 'Inland Empire'. well, basically all his films.
'Cargo'
good movie. catch this movie if you like science-fiction meets action drama. the graphics are just amazing, the cinematography was spot on, and the movie flow was pretty solid for a science fiction film. the twist at the end of the movie was pretty good. one thing i felt was questionable was the ending of the film. i thought they just ran out of funds to make the movie, so they just threw something up.
other than that, i like it.
