cloud atlas was a huge meh. the only interesting and entertaining story was the one about the old british guy.

looom, you just recommended the most obvious movies ever in a thread with almost 2400 posts, gg.

see how bad the film industry is then? Also, I am not sure if the last two were so obvious, they are not that well known.

Not bad, decent soundtrack!

Posted by zGoogleman on May-29-2013 16:33:

Do people not watch movies anymore?

Posted by zGoogleman on May-29-2013 16:36:

Maybe a lot of these films were recommended.

Posted by meriter on Jul-06-2013 08:06:

Posted by Syntonic on Jul-06-2013 09:16:

wow, i though i was the only one that remembered Fire In The Sky. I probably shouldn't have seen that when i was young. I was so creeped out during and way after watching.

Blair Witch Project was pretty scary, and that ending gives me chills. Just standing in the corner.

Yeah I saw the original night of the living dead when I was like 7 or 8.. the ending almost made me throw up, nice little intro to tragedy for an 8 year old

typical horror flicks bounce off me, like blood and guts and special effects don't do anything for me but for some reason man that freaked me the fuck out.

Same here, I more creeped out by mysticism. I dont like when its all put out there for you like gore and sheer shock value .

damn anthony hopkins was fire in this, he even comes out as a likeable character, awesome

Bob: I started the Lecter for President write-in campaign to make people think about style in politics. Look: Dr. Lecter doesn’t kill for money. He has some standards, however egregious. Dubya seems to have none at all. Besides, Hannibal has a decent education and a sense of humor. He frightens me much less than Dubya. If we must have a serial killer in the oval office, and most Americans east of the Rockies seem to think we must, I’d prefer one with some class and panache. Dubya has as much of those as the stuff you step in and scrape off on the curb, hoping it’s not as bad as it smells.

Q. What’s the basis of your obsession with Hannibal Lecter?

A. Hannibal Lecter, M.D., please. In the books, he seems one of the greatest creations in literature to me. I admire Thomas Harris more than any novelist since James Joyce. Everything about Dr. Lecter is likeable and even admirable except that one Nasty Habit [cannibalism], but that habit’s so intolerable, even to libertarians, we can never forget it even when we find him most likeable and most admirable. A paradox like that can inspire Ph.D. candidates for 1,000 years. I mean, how can you resist a psychiatrist who tells a Lesbian patient, as Hannibal did once, “There’s nothing wrong with being weird. You have no idea how weird I am”—and really means it? In the films, of course, Dr. Lecter also has the stupendous contribution of intelligence and eerie charm only Anthony Hopkins can project. By the way, God bless Valerie Coral and God damn Asa Hutchinson.

If you're into really bad/cheesy dubbing then you all need to watch MIAMI CONNECTION, on Netflix. Almost as bad/awesome as HARD GUN.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Jul-08-2013 18:57:

And the only reason we learned that HARD GUN was so awesomely bad is because it was in the 5 dollar DVD bin at the grocery store, and it said it had Tony Jaa in it (he is, but a really minor role, lol).

Please don't beat me! HAHAHAHAHA

I recommend blazing a huge joint then watching this masterpiece. You will 100% laugh your ass off.

I grew up on horror movies. I agree that Blair Witch was the one that sticks out the most as scaring me. I also saw it right when it came out, after that excellent viral ad campaign, which I think contributed quite a bit to its effectiveness.

Pretty good hard sci fi flick. Only gripe I have is that it could've been more intense.

Awesome Plastic hotties and cartoonish CGI. Looks like SyFy is moving into feature films.

Anyone looking forward to see Pacific Rim?

By the way, I liked Olympus Has Fallen.
