Yeah, I really liked Dark City. I actually saw it in the cinema years ago, and only ended up getting it on DVD last year, I think.
Just watched A Street Car Named Desire while reading along with the original screenplay in hand. I'm usually not a fan of the black and white stuff, but I enjoyed this film. I can't recall watching anything with Marlon Brando in it before, so this was a first.

I can't stand Hanks and this has "oscar bait" all over it, but I know I'm going to love it nonetheless. The book is fantastic and Wachowskis are great storytellers. In the trailer you can already see how are they probably going to blend the individual storylines (around 0:30, manipulation of the mise-en-scene similar to what they did in Speed Racer).

I just want to say Holy Motors is phenomenal. It's so bizzare, but in such a lovely way. If you'll have a chance to watch it, don't hesitate. I've seen it almost a month ago and I still think about it periodically. It helps if you're familiar with Leos Carax's earlier films, but it's not necessary.

And while I'm at it, my (provisional) best of 2012:
Holy Motors (Leos Carax)
Cosmopolis (David Cronenberg)
Csak a Szél (Bence Fliegauf)
Chronicle (Josh Trank)
I watched MacGruber the other night and thought it was fucking hilarious. It got shit reviews, but fuck those people. My bf and I lulled all the way through.

Just started watching a cam of 'Brave' seems disney has finally ruined pixar. What a shame.
Guess I'll watch The Incredibles again
Incredibles is by far my favorite Pixar. Brave was pretty lame, I agree. But if you're going to watch computer animation, a cam is the worst way to do it. Why bother with cams ever, actually? Just wait a little and steal a 720, then give it a fair shot.
DVD ISN'T OUT TILL I'm sorry the dvd isn't out till november and I wanted more pixar goodness after watching the incredibles. Toy Story isn't for me really, I like how the incredibles is actually for adults probably why they haven't made a sequel yet. I think it's brilliant though... captures something only precision 3D animation can. Like the woman's facial expressions in this scene are just awesome
ugh.. I really get the sense Winona Ryder built her entire career on blowing guys
Corações Sujos (Dirty Hearts)
This film is about one of the most awkward moments in Brazilian history: some Japanese immigrants, an otherwise peaceful bunch, formed a terrorist group who killed dozens and injured hundreds of people who held a simple belief - Japan lost WWII. They refused to acknowledge this ever happened, and would punish with death anyone who could accept the defeat even after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Such far-fetched story did happen, and this terrorist group was called Shindo Renmei, and they were quite successful. The Japanese believed them for quite a while, leading to odd situations when faced with visitors from the archipelago, whose puzzlement over questions about Japan's victory was disconcerting to the locals.
It took them a while to integrate with the general population, and one of the reasons is because they were believed to be too riotous and violent for Brazil... yet we still went on to host the largest colony in the world.
Based on a book with the same title. I read it in a single day, and it's by far the most fascinating story I've ever read.
Been watching a bunch of Korean movies on Netflix...
Watched:
Almost Love
My Scary Girl
Penny Pinchers
Koreans are funny.
I also watched Chasing Amy, never seen it. Thought it wasn't that great. The attitudes towards sex in it seem rather archaic and I am pretty sure every Kevin Smith movie is just a series of conversations he wishes he had in real life.

Yeah I got pretty sick of Amy screaming constantly.

So, I just came from The Expendables 2.
Story: 0/10
Acting: 0/10
Script: 0/10
The chance to see every single action star from the 80's blow shit up, cut off people's heads and shoot them to oblivion while cracking jokes about the previous movies that made them the stars they are now: 1000000000000000000000/10
Go see this movie.
Saw this on a list of movies nobody has ever seen. I remember loving this movie just because it's so intense. asked a few people at work about it and nobody even remembers it.
it is awesome.
Oh yeah I remember that, realism is so much scarier than the usual hollywood bs
Cabin in the Woods is so awesome

I blew it off too based on the trailers, but it is so much more than what it looks like. I won't spoil it by trying to explain the plot, but if you want some other reassurance that it's worth the time investment, check out the 90% rating on Rottentomatoes.
